Agreed.

As someone who started gaming in the 4th gen, no major systems have felt as uninteresting to me as PS4 and Xbone. The exclusives are unappealing, the multiplats I can still get on my Xbox 360, and nothing about them feels new or exciting.
Even Wii U, while much better, lacks the spark that the Wii had.

Where early last gen we had promising new IPs like Gears of War, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Wii Sports, and Bioshock, now we have overhyped rubbish like Destiny, Watch Dogs, Knack, Titanfall, and Driveclub.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: to me, the 8th gen (so far) signifies the victory of the commercial over the creative, brands over games, flash over substance.

Well, I'm satisfied with 8th gen, but that is probably because I don't have a PS4 or XOne. I have enough games to play in my spare time, so not much disappointment from me.

Wii U: SSB4, MK8, Hyrule Warriors, 3D World etc...
3DS: FE Awakening, RF4, Fantasy Life, LoZ, Theatrhythm FF, SSB4, Pokemon (o.O), etc...

The worst part about it though is that games like Destiny, Watch Dogs, Knack, and Driveclub COULD have been PHENOMENAL games. Titanfall for example had potential to be Microsoft's Gears of War. Watch Dogs to be Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed. Destiny to be Activision's Bioshock, etc. etc. It's just so weird.

I think Titanfall would have been much better if it was published by Microsoft. Wonder why MS refused to publish it? Respawn even offered it to them before EA!

This isn't the 8th Generation. It's Generation 7.5th (Shitload of remakes, lack of new IPs, Nintendo console having 7th Gen Graphics, too many new games releases still being able to be played on 7th Generation consoles, not enough 8th Generation Exclusives).

Only system that hasn't been a letdown is the 3DS (reason why it's the best selling system).

What stopped them from being great games? I can see what happened to Driveclub, but what about the others? Nothing much seemed to have bogged them down from their original vision.

I'm enjoying it so far. Right now I'm playing dying light and I'm having a blast with the game even though the game has a 75 metacritic score. I also have GTA 5 with is a great addition for my collection since I never got to beat the ps3 version, Shadow of mordor is another good game. There are many more games that had good reviews like DA:I and farcry 4 which also are on my buying list. I'm also looking forward for bloodborne which I'm sure is going to be a masterpiece.

I agree somewhat, it's been a disappointing start but this year looks to be a lot better, biggest disappointments for me personally were Watchdogs and Killzone, other than that the games I have enjoyed the most on new gen are Fifa 15, dragon age inquisition (put about 70 hours in so far and still havent completed the main storyline) and recently I'm hooked on drive club.
