You can't tell me with a straight face these games got criticism like The Order. Uncharted, TLOU and Bloodborne get praise and some cautious criticism. Nothing out of the ordinary, as games on other platforms get too. The Order gets critcised like Watchdogs or Alien Colonial Marines. OK, maybe the latter was worse (for good reason).

Uncharted and specially TLOU are constantly called interactive movies, QTE-fests, "story with crappy gameplay", etc. Pretty much the same narrative as The Order. The main difference this time around is

a) The Order looks better than any PC game so instead of drawing only other console players it also attracted the ire of the Virgin Master Race.

b) PS4 is kicking ass and taking names, so both Nintendo and Xbox fans reinforce the narrative mentioned above because they are being sore losers. With the Wii and 360's success back when U1 was released, the same criticism was there but given the circumstances people just did it less because they were not "bothered by the PS3". By the time TLOU was released, things were already intensifying because PS3 was #1 and still gets trashed almost on a daily basis.

Sorry, no. Just look at the number and intesity of threads here about The Order. In no way were TLOU and Uncharted comparable and they are bigger games. Look at the reception of Bloodborne. This all says also this is not a thing about PS4.

The post explained why the "intensity" is greater. And yes it was all there, specially TLOU.

And Bloodborne already gets hate, which will probably grow stronger as the release gets nearer. First, it was because of the 30fps. Then, IGN footage was daylight instead of nighttime so = graphical downgrade. Faster combat, "regen health"? Making Souls casual, game will be easier, etc etc. These things will get repeated more often as the release date draws nearer. As much as The Order? No, because it's niche, so a big chunk of these people don't care about it.

So I don't get it....why are people separating QTE and gameplay? I always felt QTEs were apart of the gameplay and I personally enjoy them(but then I am a hack n slash fan soooooooo yeah lol) as do others. So what EXACTLY is the game getting bashed for? because it still has my full interest and looks super good imo. What are the problems some people are having with the game.....even though most have not even played it which is odd in itself but whatever. So what are the issues?

They should have listened to early criticisms. I bet they thought since this gen was headed in a direction all about graphics that it would be enough to carry The Order. I bet they also thought since the game was a ps4 exclusive, the game would escape harsh critics and vocal fans.

Your post is confusing....if they have been getting critizied from the begnining(or early as you stated) then why would they think that hte game being ps4 exclusive would espace harsh critics and vocal fans? So they thought they game would espace what it was already getting?

Yeah, welcome to this gen's console war. Sunset Overdrive received huge amounts of "haterade." Not to mention Titanfall. It's just the way it is and it's clearly even more polarized with this gen between Xbox One and PS4. There's likely no end to it. Any sliver of negativity about a PS4 exclusive is going to see the Xbox One loyalists pounce on it and vice versa.

So we've established that any game:

Under 10 hours
Can be finished in 5 hours if you skip stuff-Under 5 hours of actual gameplay
Has QTEs-Problem is there are way too many
Has Borders-Never any reason to not use the full screen
Is Story driven
Has lots of cut scenes-2+ hours is a bit much
Is linear in design

Must be constantly critiqued on everything until launch.

Noted.

Below are the specs of the game, also don't try to generalize the negatives like they are common. Not to mention single player only.

Total | 325:17 --> Gameplay | 186:48 - QTE | 11:03 - Cutscenes | 127:26

Percentages
Gameplay | 57,43%
QTE | 3.4%
Cutscenes | 39.17%

Actually, one more question on this post. Where did you get those breakdowns?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I'll break it down.

1. The early criticisms were regarding gameplay, but imo R@D thought by continually improving graphics it would ease the gameplay concerns.

2. Despite plenty of oppotunities for criticsm ps4 developers haven't been criticized. even the indie devs. Merely being associated with Xb1 has warranted a public outcry, but not even close for being on the ps4/sony team. This is the first for someone on team ps4 and by that I mean criticism of this magnitude.

It was on neaogaf, and no I did not verify the breakdown, but I did watch several chapters of the playthrough and it seemed pretty accurate.

Maybe the game deserves it? does this guy not like criticism? lol

but I'll judge for myself how fair criticism is when I get the game next week

see how full of poo reviewers are or how nail on the head they are

Okay gotcha. So now the question is has anyone been actually complaining about the gameplay like they were skeptical about early on? The issue early on was that people had not really seen gameplay. So are they saying  the gameplay is bad? Because if not then I still don't get the issue and or even why your brought up graphics. I am asking because I am still trying to find what the issue is people are having with this game.

And as for the second point forget about being a PS4 developer what game has REALLY received the critisim this game has had from start to finish whether it be a PS4/XB1/Wii U game? I can't think of a single one. Now there have been people vocal about games in the past(infmaous, KZ, Titanfall, Sunset overdrive etc) but the negative critisim this game has received through and through is crazy imo.
