Your post is confusing....if they have been getting critizied from the begnining(or early as you stated) then why would they think that hte game being ps4 exclusive would espace harsh critics and vocal fans? So they thought they game would espace what it was already getting?

I'll break it down.

1. The early criticisms were regarding gameplay, but imo R@D thought by continually improving graphics it would ease the gameplay concerns.

2. Despite plenty of oppotunities for criticsm ps4 developers haven't been criticized. even the indie devs. Merely being associated with Xb1 has warranted a public outcry, but not even close for being on the ps4/sony team. This is the first for someone on team ps4 and by that I mean criticism of this magnitude.

Okay gotcha. So now the question is has anyone been actually complaining about the gameplay like they were skeptical about early on? The issue early on was that people had not really seen gameplay. So are they saying  the gameplay is bad? Because if not then I still don't get the issue and or even why your brought up graphics. I am asking because I am still trying to find what the issue is people are having with this game.

And as for the second point forget about being a PS4 developer what game has REALLY received the critisim this game has had from start to finish whether it be a PS4/XB1/Wii U game? I can't think of a single one. Now there have been people vocal about games in the past(infmaous, KZ, Titanfall, Sunset overdrive etc) but the negative critisim this game has received through and through is crazy imo.

I've been here a short while but I haven't seen as much attention put onto a single game yet. But honestly, it doesn't help when some of the games defenders are making a thread a day trying to defend the game and put it back into good light. Some people are skeptical of the game, some have already decided it's not for them hell some people on this forum have already beaten the game and didn't like it. Everytime these threads are made, even if it was meant with good intentions, it's gonna bring these people out.

Is "Haterade" some new form of sports drink?

No hatred from me -- but I'm not sure I'm buying the game, either. I'm about to leave my job and go back to school and I'm going to have to get really selective about which games I purchase (i.e. "Uncharted", maybe "Bloodborne", and Nintendo games only).

See I can live with that and that is fine. Some poeple will hatte it, some will dislike it, some will like it and others will love it. I was just baffled at how much attention this game has gotten and I agree there has not been a single game yet that has gotten as much attention as The Order. It has been insane from start to finish and it isn't even finished yet seeing as all the reviews are not out yet! That is crazy!

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

Lets put it this way, if you dont like QTEs, cutscenes and games that are under 10 hours dont buy the game.

I actualy think QTEs are an interesting way to interact with a cutscene, I love a game with a robust story (therefore I dont mind cutscenes a bit) and I realy dont care much for length Im from a time where games had like 3 hours tops and thatw as never what mattered, its the fun factor that mattes.

I honestly have no problem with a short game, if its 5 - 10 hours I think that could still be a really great game. Its whether or not the price point reflects that.

You can't expect gamers to spent £50-60 on a 7 hour game. Although I thought this game was like Assassin's Creed in 1886. So I'm not sure why the playtime is low.

I have tried to avoid the order threads as much as possible. Especial all those criticizing the game. I see threads like these as an exercise in futility.

I can't help but feel that any critique against a game that is unreleased is inherently stupid and I also think it's very telling that a majority of that criticism (probably over 90%) is from people that don't even own a PS4 and thus have no intention or need to even buy the game.

I find its the absolute worst kinda trolling. Since I cannot buy or play this game, I'm gonna make sure I hate it and make as many people hate it too. kinda sad when you think of it.

In all my posts on this site, I have probably never said anything bad of or even criticized a game, even those that I own because above all else I know that the value or enjoyment anyone gets from a game is purely subjective. For anyone to brand a game as bad simply cause it has or doesn't have things they hate or like respectively is to me just outright stupid.

Just my opinion.

thats because when people see pretty graphics they go nuts and think this is going to be the game of the year.

Tsubasa Ozora

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

This happens with pretty much every exclusive for every console. Some people are so caught up in what they own, or even cases where they want to own, that everything else must be terrible except what they want.
With that said, this doesn't seem to be a very extraordinary game... more like ordinary without the little extra. The game is in a hard spot though. It's supposed to be a fairly big AAA game so it has pushed like that and it's now being released at a dry time so many will likely get it, but since there has been such a push and hype wagon it has a very hard time living up to the hype.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Actually, one more question on this post. Where did you get those breakdowns?

It was on neaogaf, and no I did not verify the breakdown, but I did watch several chapters of the playthrough and it seemed pretty accurate.

Oh, alright. Thanks. Like I said though, 5.5 hours is hardly the average we've been hearing about on NeoGaf.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

So we've established that any game:

Under 6 hours
Can be finished in 5 hours if you skip stuff
Has lots of QTEs
Has Borders
Is Story driven
Has lots of cut scenes totaling almost half of the length of the game
Is linear in design
Somehow still costs $60 at launch

Must be constantly critiqued on everything until launch.

Noted.

I fixed some of that for you, and added another. You really hit the nail on the head in terms of the problems with The Order. You might be able to try really hard and find 2-3 games that fit this entire list, maybe. But you won't find many at all. Hell, I cannot think of a single one. And that's why The Order gets so much hate. It's not just "omg its so short!" it's that it's so short, it's extremely linear, its loaded with so many cut scenes that almost half the time you're "playing" you're actually just watching, an enormous part of the game is tied to QTE's, there's little to no replay value, AND it's going to launch at $60.

Another reason the flames are burning so strong is because it's a PS exclusive, and a highly hyped/anticipated one, so you have a slew of people arguing and defending the game. Which just means more replies and more discussion.

There's nothing uncanny about it. Other games like Titanfall, Evolve, hell even Ryse were subjected to the same hate. And it's not because of the Sony brand, either. Uncharted and LoU might have had a small amount of hate prior to launch but it's overwhelmingly positive. And Bloodborne can do no wrong right now. Maybe this game is just getting hate because it deserves it? A lot of people don't like the idea of a 5-6 hour game where 35-40% of it are cut scenes, and the only real replay value is replaying the game to hunt trinkets. And it's $60.
