DS and 3DS trouncing the Sony handhelds says hi

So far there is only one direct competitor to be taken seriously. Oculus Rift. And i highly doubt MS will pull anything off in the next two-three years. What they presented just recently was nothing but a CONCEPT. It will take a while till it's ready for the market. Besides that, Sony doesn't have to fear the competition, because they already have a foothold. The hardware base is growing unimpeded.

A gamepad is a gamepad, and not VR. And how do you define "casual friendly"? You know what was the most "casual friendly" thing about the Wii? The price tag.

It will certainly lose in its early years but it will be interesting to see how it does in its late years

I have got to love the price defense. It is like Sony fans are butt heart about not being the wii anymore.
You do know PS4 at the price point & break even point of the Wii would have been a different console and would have done horribly?

PS4 will be fine, it doesn't need to beat Wii, but as was pointed out before the start of the generation market will shrink with a really core focus demographic.

if by the end of 2017 PS4 has managed to stay within 15m I think it is assured a victory.

Well it will pass it (wii in the long run), If not that is a scary thought. Still very much doubt it will reach ps2/ds numbers without Japan being as strong as it once was, even with the Europe/Other making the different. 

While i admit that Morpheus could have an impact, we can't count on it, at least until we know more about it.

That said, the PS3 legs are surprising me so i believe the PS4 will end over 100M, even if for that it needs to keep selling during the next gen.

Pointing out facts = butthurt?

Because pricing doesn't work that way  it is because costs associated with it. At the end of the day, Wii at 250, and PS4 at 400 is what they would be priced at, hell Wii could have been 200 on launch if you most likely want the break even points to line up, but it just means they reflect their value at that time. The reason I say butthurt, is because that is the only excuse, and I use the word excuse, that people are presenting "What if PS4 was priced at 250, it would have outsold the Wii, and it would have....it would also bankurpt the company."

Why are only few sony fans seeing the obvious hole in the argument.
