Also PS4 probably cant afford a price drop. Considering its higher GPU and Ram units, its a more expensive system to make which will mean the X1 will always have the cheaper price point (Not including Kinect obviously) |
You forgot the most important thing; Microsoft can afford to play at price wars and sustain minor losses a lot more than Sony can.
I really do believe that MS will go all-out to take the US and possibly the UK.

Agreed, people ALWAYS deny this! The US is in the bag if they play it right, and with a bit more effort the UK could be as well. Both these countries see LOTS of brand value through Xbox, and this will in turn help it throughout the mid to later parts of the gen. But its still early on, and anything can change (well except for Wii U becoming number #1, thats not happening no matter what)!

Hard to say with Uncharted vs Gears. I reckon with the fact that Gears:J tanked quite badly for a Gears game there is a very good chance Uncharted 4 will outsell Gears 5(?) in the USA. Halo has no peer. But then, in the USA Halo sells mostly to hard core Halo fans from the Xbox days (Halo 2 NA total sales = 86.5% of Halo 3 NA total sales. Xbox NA sales = 32.7% of Xb 360 NA sales. This means while there was huge gen on gen growth for Xbox hardware, there was very little gen on gen growth for Halo. The vast majority of gen on gen growth for Halo came from outside NA.) So that only really guarantees an Xb one install base of about 16 million. For NA, I think people put too much stock in what Halo will do for Xb one. If Halo is going to do anything significant for Xb one it will be to get a lot of people outside of NA to buy Xb one. Short term I think Halo will have the bigger effect, but when considering the whole of the generation I don't think it will have the effect some people think. The lack of significant expansion of Halo in the 7th gen in the USA is essentially why most 360 owners beyond the core 16 million who bought Xbox are a swing market and Xb one needs something other than Halo (and Gears I'd wager) to get them to stick with Xbox. If most of the 360 buyers outside that core 16 million were former PS and PS2 owners it pretty much means they are fairly well disposed to going back to PS. |
Uncharted 3 will outsold Gear of war 2 the best selling Gear of war game this year.
Uncharted 4 will definitly sell more then Gear 5
PS: I forget that we talk about usa only
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

That's because people make the assumption that "Microsoft won't want to lose money", when the reality is that software (the 360 has an amazing attach rate in the US and UK) and Live fees and other income are the primary concern of modern console manufacturers; MS can easily make up their losses on software and Live subscriptions should they take a small hit on each One unit sold. Bigger installed base = more software and subscriptions.
Their recent efforts to tie the One more into Windows gaming shows that they mean business; I am both excited and alarmed at the prospect (excited because I hope it will shift more focus onto PC gaming from MS again but alarmed because I fear they might want to make the PC more like Xbox as a gaming platform).
I have said it all along; I think MS will take the US and possibly the UK.

believe what you want. x1 will be phased out before the gen even ends.

I'm not a fan of either Xbox or PS. I like both and have owned a PS2 and X360 and would probably get a PS4 this year. Idk though. So far, the exclusives are better on that system. However, America does prefer the Xbox over the PS. Xbox has always sold better in America, whereas PS has always sold better in Europe and Japan. I think it'll always be like that.

According to the breakdown the X1, without kinect, cost more to make than the PS4. Sony's specalizes in hardware, Microsoft specalizes in software.

That is due to the first Xbox was against the PS2. Most people already knew of the Playstation brand. But when you look at the sales difference between the 360 and PS3, it is VERY obvious that the majority of Americans prefer the Xbox brand.
