This thread is the an example of other side of the coin. Blind Optimism, the idea that something is already great before they play it.
I personally most likely the opposite coin right now, only because I have strong dislike of QTE as a game mechanic. Most likely why I won't even play Bayoneta at this stage. I even disliked it in games I loved like RE4.
However, that just means the game isn't for me, I think it looks beautiful and most likely will be a great game.

Played Max Payne 3 recently, and you are right about the pacing. Horrendous amount of interruptions. The Order needs to avoid that as much as possible. Max Payne 3 got good scores when it was released despite these issues. So it will be interesting to see if
a) the media has changed it's opinion on how badly interruptions for story purposes affect the game in the last three years, and
b) if they take that same viewpoint forward to other games. Quantum Break, I am assuming, will be heavily story focused, given it is linked to a TV show. Will that also be so heavily critcised if it is similar? I doubt it, not because they are biased for Xbox or against PS, but because critics seem to go out of their way to show no consistency when reviewing games
I dont think so. I want the game to do well but it properly wont be above 80 on meta.

This pretty much. They already made up their minds and nothing will change it (unfortunately).
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I don't know the idea that a game is already great before release and critics are just gonna hate it for the sake of it to me is blind optimism that the game is great. I don't like critics either, but this thread seems to prejudging judging.

Or maybe some people are blaming the critics for not being good at their job just to excuse the low scores. Is not that the game is not good... is the critics, they don´t know how to do their jobs... of course.

I don't think so. People are blaming the critics cause sometimes they become picky with games for unfair reasons. I mean, game reviewers aren't that profissional in many cases. Do you remember that most of them criticized DriveClub before its release because they were comparing its courses with Forza Horizon 2, which has a totally different approach? Most of them couldn't separate things and realize that not everything have to be open world nowadays (if that was the case, then traditional forza, gran turismo and tons of games should also be bashed for not being open). The are many other examples of this kind of thing.
Critics are kinda doing it with The Order right now and that's why most people think they will bash the game no matter what. They already made up their minds.

I'm certain this game will get picked apart for being "generic."
will it be a GOTY contender, I dont think so, but will it be a awesome game Ithink so deff. I bet it will be a short game though, lets hope they put something to give it replay value. Either way I'm stoked to get it
