Indeed it makes no sense, so lets put it on Wii U instead.....

Ground Zeroes didn't really come out at the best time for the XBO and there was quite a visible difference between the PS4 and XBO versions. Hopefully Phantom Pain does better.

What do you mean not a good time?  There is no good time,  will sell at least 80 percent on ps4.

They're probably cheap ports. Ground Zeros did not look very good on XBO. Sony would have to pay for exclusivity like MGS4 and there's not much point considering the MGS fanbase is already on Playstation.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Konami will get back the costs of production if it's in more systems.

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

To all the people saying it made sense to be on x1 because more sales..
how do uou know
1. People wouldn't have bought a ps4 to play an exc 'll shove
2. Multiplatform owners simply bought it on x1 over ps4
3. Money invested was worth the sales
4. Games were sold at full price

Developers have actually come forward and said that exclusivity does result in increased sales and free marketing / hype
they've also said they have to weigh it against the cost and additional sales among other factors. Usually an exclusive will receive first party support or paid advertising.

So the question is how many sales are actually gained by multi, at what price, and at what cost. Generally an initial move to multiplatform is balanced against the cost of establishing a new fanbase. If it doesnt pan out though, these studios will return to exclusive...but not after they've damaged the brand.

Maraccuda hits a very fine point with his joke.
want more sales? Put it on wiiU. Why not? Because x? Tell me how x1 is capable of overcoming x, then y, then z

As owning an xbox, I've always known NOT to get konami games. All their games are 720p on XB1 (same on last gen, PES and latest MGS game are examples). They simply plop whatever junk they can, and thats it! So I for one wouldn't care what Konami does, they lost my trust YEARS ago! And if you think its not a big deal, I think then you should think about principle. Konami spends next to nothing on in terms of effort and money in making the game on XB1, then suddenly they think they deserve whatever they ask for a game (40-60$) No thanks!

How is more sales a bad thing?

cost to port is a thing.  You gotta devote a team for optimization.

Well I'm sure Konami appreciates the extra 300k sales they got from Xbox platforms. Not like this is the first time MGS has been on Xbox.

Pretty much this. If they are making money back then it's additional sales. If the cost of porting costed more than what they'd make back, then I'd agree.

It makes sense.

Porting the game to the xb1 would would be easy and cheap since it's pretty much the same as the ps4. And the 360 has a big install base like the ps3, so I guess they feel it will be worth while to put it there as well.
