I don't blame them for being bad at marketing new IPs since consumers always react differently to them, no matter the target audience. But what they need is to get the game out. Get the game out.

Starting next week or so, give out little goodies every week until launch to maintain that hype and pass word of mouth and start marketing directly via YouTube videos and gameplay features that we still don't know much about.


I like this idea a lot and I think it would work. I'm ready for some ink!!!

Heck, I wouldn't even mind looking at gameplay videos of other people playing it (Press conferences), I looked at all footage already :P

No, I don't think so. Yes its a shooter, yes it looks unique...but I don't think its going to sell well or push WiiUs

Was SSB a big system seller? Is Splatoon bigger than SSB?

If they want to sell systems do a $50 pricecut and a good packin title or titles

If Nintendo was planning to release Splatoon alongside a Nikelodeon animated television series featuring the characters in the game, I would say that it might.

I just don't believe that Nintendo is going to market this game well enough to get the word out. The Wii U is also so far removed from the minds of most people today that it really would take A LOT of marketing to move console sales at this point. That said, I think Splatoon looks like a fantastic game and I wouldn't be surprised to see it sell a couple million copies from within the Wii U's existing user base (which would still make it a huge success, in my opinion).

MAY 29th ( I pre-ordered mine a week ago when the leak came out) 3 amiibos on release, and we get local multi-player too(still keeping people together)

Man I can not wait for this game. I really think NINTENDO hit a home run with this game and will boost sales.
