Forums - Nintendo - Do you think it is unlikely for WiiU to sell more in 2015 compared to 2014?

Is it unlikely, that WiiU-sales improve 2015 compared with 2014?

Yes! 17 32.08%

No! 27 50.94%

Maybe 8 15.09%

Nintendoooom 0 0%

Certainly not impossible.

It all depends on how they play their cards, like amiibo, and their big releases like Zelda.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

It will sell more this year, price cut and bigger library of games, probably this will be peak year.

Impossible? No. Unlikely? Obviously.

Smash and Mario Kart already have it selling, there's 11 retail games coming out this year, and with that many games there's no excuse not to advertise, which will then get sales, and people will buy Wii U if it goes down to $249

Thanks for all the great memories!

Not if they announce a price cut. Otherwise...yes probably. My point is that, if people weren't excited by MK8 & Smash last year, they're not likely to be excited by Star Fox, XCX, or even Zelda really...Idk hope I'm wrong.

I own almost every Nintendo console and I never bought or got into Smash, Mk8 was the first MK I bought in my life and that game alone would not have made me buy the wii U this year that's for sure (even if it's a good game). On the otherhand, I would have bought the wii U the first day Star Fox, XCX or Zelda got out were those have been released before I got mine. MK8 and Smash are very popular kind of harcore but still casual games that sells a lot but I think that lots of people are waiting for a hardcore game like Star Fox, XCX or Zelda to buy the console and then as a second game they will buy MK8 and Smash for friends/family fun.

"Impossible" is a strong term ...

"Unlikely" is what your looking for ...

Yeah, you're right. I think I'll change the thread-title.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

Everyone stating that it's no impossible... well, for me it nearly is, on a purely figurative way.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I don't know...I remember people saying that Bayonetta 2 would be a good game for the "hardcore" gamer and look how that turned out. I totally understand that there are big Star Fox, Xenoblade, & Zelda fans that are waiting for those new games to come out (although if you were a true Zelda fan, wouldn't you have gotten a Wii U in 2013 to play Wind Waker HD, or even 2014 for Hyrule Warriors?). But I just don't see the fans of those games being enough to make the 2015 Wii U sell better than 2014. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but short of a price cut, I'm not sure what else Nintendo can do to make the Wii U appeal to a broader audience.

Nintendo consoles always leak on their third year so its more than possible

Nope. In fact, it is very likely

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
