Forums - Gaming - Has the sequel of a game you liked ever gone exclusive to a console you didn't own?

Would Jet Set Radio Future count? I actually ended up buying an Xbox for that.

I'm one of those crazy types that'll buy any console if it has games I want on it though.

Console history? Pretty much everything at one point or another apart from Xbox One which I'll rectify at some point.

Shenmue 2 got an English language release on Dreamcast and was playable on any console without modification. Even if there wasn't an official US release :) but yeah, it was hard times, my one was a Dreamcast franchise that moved to Xbox too haha.

Project Gotham was also kind of a sequel to a Dreamcast game >_< and Headhunter, though the sequel was pants. Sad times.

Ace Combat 6 is the only example that comes to mind... I'm sure there are others.

Battletoads almost counts. I love battletoads, but they're owned by microsoft now, so even IF they did get a new game, I wouldn't play it.... But, who knows... it's battletoads, so I might just have to make the jump... maybe.

Fortunately, no game that I liked jumped ship. If it did, I'd be forced to buy another console.

I played Tomb Raider on Saturn, Sony then bought out the future games to only be on PS consoles. I think it was 2001 before it saw the light of day on another console in the US? I did eventually own a PSone though, so I was able to play the franchise.

Need for Speed I played first on 3DO, the next 2 or 3 entries only saw release on PS as far as consoles go. Not via any deal with Sony I assume, 3DO was long dead and gone by then, as was the Saturn, sadly.

You don't need to use the wii mote, it is recommended you use a classic controller.

I see. Thats good. But can the WiiU Pro controller work instead of the Wii's classic controller?

No. It is a wii game, therefore it is not mapped for Wii U controllers.

Not sequels I cared about. Rare Xbox titles all sucked.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Yes, the sequel of PC exclusive Drakan: Order of the Flame (1999) was a PS2 exclusive. I only started getting into PS2 in 2011.
