Didn't even know half of the stuff about this game. It's uninteresting anyway.

If I liked that game I couldn't care less about its DLC schemes.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

should be f2p at this rate..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Shod ding business practices! Tweeted 2K, TurtleRock, Yoshida and Phil with the link pointing out that we as gamers thought these guys fought for us and stood with us. I think we should start a new hashtag with this and tweet them with #evolve #dlc #stoprobbingus

It's getting ridiculous now to the point where these devs are no longer making complete games, instead they are charging full whack for base model with another £20-35 for the rest of the game.

yeah not really willing to buy this game now. at least not at full price or any time soon. maybe a game of the year edition.

I very much agree with Jim on several points:
- Was never into Evolve simply because I almost never play multiplayer. But maybe I would have taken a chance at the game as it seems very interesting, had it not been all this DLC bull. $15 for one character? Come on!

- I learned my lesson with Season Passes. Got fooled once with LA Noire - bought the game with the season pass, game turned out to be boring and crappy, but I still paid for content 6 months in advance that I then forced myself to play just so "my money doesn't go to waste".
But then Gears 3 came and I said "Hey, I really loved part 2, I might as well buy a Season Pass". And I got screwed again, most of it was uninteresting, but I learned my lesson and didn't even download some of those DLCs - money wasted.
Never again will I buy a Season Pass, screw them. It's not worth it to save $2 now for the content I might play in 6 months - and I don't even know what that content is --- buy two hunters and a monster yet to be determined and available at some random date this year (or next year).

- Convenience rules. I understand there are some hardcore gamers and collectors, but convenience rules for the majority of people. That's why I buy games digitally. That's why I don't pirate NFL games, it is more convenient to pay for them. That's why I do pirate TV series, it is more convenient than dealing with my country's broadcasters.
And having 11 different preorder bonuses, 25 DLCs depending on your geographic location, retailer presence or time of day is just stupid and inconvenient.

I know I will not be buying Evolve for about a year now, and now I'm glad I don't have to be sorry about it.

I'm too evolved to bother with Evolve~

lulz

this is such a shame, the game is realy fun, but they should have gone the lol road of f2p and not the asscredroad of aaa dlc...

They made a huge mistake with the PR they released that announced all this stuff a few days ago. It was worded terribly, poorly written, and was just confusing.

But when you get down to the bottom line, there's no big deal here. They don't have day one DLC outside of some worthless skins. The DLC was NOT promoted before the game was revealed or a screen shot was shown as Jim is trying to claim. The game was revealed in an issue of Game Informer, and the website had loads if pics and videos and even developer interviews up for days before they announced the pre-order bonus.

The quote about Evolve being more ready for DLC than any game was taken out of context and was a response to a direct question about DLC asked in another magazine interview. What they meant by that is that compared to L4D, Evolve is much more open to DLC. And it is. You can have new maps, new modes, new weapons, new hunters, and new monsters, all interchangeable with one all independent.

At the end of the day they announced some preorder and DLC stuff before the game was released, and their pricing for the DLC is so laughably bad, I have to believe it's not real. In other words, all things that are pretty much industry standard now. GAF is in a tizzy over this and I think it's just awesome to read.

Idk where people are getting the idea that it's not a complete game either. You can play solo or online. There is a twist on a campaign mode with Evacuation. The grinding required to level up the characters is real. It's just as complete as any other game.
