Codemasters has announced that Damnation, described as a "vertical shooter" mixed with puzzle oriented platform levels, as being slated for release in late 2008.  The game will feature a steampunk alternate-history setting, huge open environments, vehicular combat, multiplayer elements, and will be powered by Unreal Engine 3.

Looks like it could be good. I remember a week back when someone posted this stuff from a ps3 site but the article said it was multi. I like the setting of this game a lot.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

This could become a silent hit :D Im looking forward to it :D

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

The bottom screen looks a lot like the parachuting bit of Army of Two.

Please don't be generic Damnation..

Anything with Codemasters even near, I stay away from, the only game from them I have ever considered getting was Dirt

I'm pretty sure calling it a vertical shooter is an attempt to dodge the fact that they made "just another shooter." I'm a PC gamer and even I'm tired of seeing shooters at this point.   The shooter is the new shovelware.

Looks neat... though I gotta wonder.... what was the last good game codemasters have made?

Have they ever made a good game?

Well outside of like... the Atari era.

I'm really excited for Codemasters next racing game "Race Driver: Grid" its suppose to use the same engine as Dirt.
