| pbroy said: Why would people who buy Xbones want to play JRPGs? They only like FPSs. Silly M$ and their mountain of cash. ![]() |
LOL. They don't want people to think Sony is the only JRPG hub.

I'd argue the Kingdom Hearts wasn't a JRPG at all but let's leave that for another day ... |
Kingdom Hearts is an ARPG, that is made by the Japanese. Demon Souls is also an ARPG and the next Final Fantasy is taking ARPG qualities from Kingdom Hearts to modernize its battle system.

It was Japanese and American made. It was initially developed by the creator of Panzer Dragoon.
I didn't even know it was a JRPG from the initial trailer. Nice surprise for Xbox fans.

Thats three Japanese style games that Microsoft has published now. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/13/phantom-dust-is-a-jrpg-with-a-30-hour-long-campaign |
Im pretty sure Ken Lobb said it was still a card based game just like the first game. Not sure if you ever played it but it was a 3d arena with tons of destruction. you played in third person adn picked up cards that gabe you different abilities. The game is very much japanese and you build up you rbetter decks as you play.

Kingdom hearts is NOT an ARPG, much less an RPG at ALL! ...
The formal definition of an RPG is where "the player can assume multiple roles with each having differentiated purposes" ...
Just because Kingdom Hearts takes many of the mechanics of an RPG such as statistical progression and differentiated playstyles does not mean it qualifies as an RPG. You always ONLY assume one role in Kingdom Hearts and it's the Keyblade Wielder's ... Therefore by default Kingdom Hearts FAILS to meet the cirteria of an RPG thus the series was never an RPG to begin with ...
Demon's Souls is also NOT an RPG because it's starting classes do NOT provide ANY differentiated purposes in the end ... Because of the fact that there are NO restrictions to what you could build your character throughout the whole game as, the starting classes have no distinguishable purposes ...
