That is a very crude generalisation that is far from the truth.

I wouldn't say gorgeous but looking at the trailer I do think the game looks very good.
One thing that may limit the aesthetic appeal of this game is the fact that the developers have very clearly made all of the environments with fairly muted, toned-down colours, a very un-Nintendo thing to do. I would imagine the reason for this though is so that the paint colours stand out clearly against the environment, a crucial element to the game's core premise.
Ugh, the characters are so ugly. So is the paint.
Everythin else looks lovely

No - what they have shown so far and how they are marketing it with all that hype building - its more professional than you might think. That why you are excited for it anyway. |
Because it looks very fun.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I think people are kind of missing the point with the environment; its SUPPOSED to look muted and monotonous so that when you spray brightly colored ink all over it, the contrast is more striking.
