Hopefully there won't be many to begin with...

It does look a little odd seeing obviously cartoony characters interacting with semi photo-realistic environments...but we rally can't judge how that looks until we see it in motion. |
I'm not sure this is a new locale. Wasn't it shown in the campaign trailer? It looked way more fitting in that, if so.
7.8/10 from IGN confirmed.
But seriously, I really have been liking what I've been seeing. I will definitely pick it up when it comes out.

hmmm...wonder why I didn't see it. I try to stay away from too much info on games anyway, so I'm more surprised when I play them. Maybe I just watched the trailer once and tried to forget it. I do think people coming in and saying it's a Vita game or a PS3 game sound like snobs, btw. It's like once you say something looks really nice a bunch of negative nancies have to come in and put it down. One thing Splatoon certainly has going for it is charm...and that's something you don't find very often these days outside of Nintendo. Granted...that's not most people's first priority when it comes to picking up a game...but it goes a long way with this gamer.
The game looks incredibly meh, the most awful thing Nintendo has ever done.
Not a big deal though, since Splatoon is being made practically by nearly an amateur team, so it's understandable in my opinion.
And I'm still very excited for it, I just don't like how it looks.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
This is one of the 2015 highlights, the more I see, the more I know it.

Yeah I'm sure that was it. It was actually my favorite new map shown in the trailer. The inklings had winter gear on and I thought it all looked really cool and although the enviornment is semi-relasitic, somehow it works when you watch the video.
People are going to be negative about anything that doesn't fit their mold. Splatoon is a new IP by Nintendo exclusive to the Wii U, so people who don't like any one of those things is gonna hate on it for whatever reason. I mean, this game isn't even finished yet and they're saying it looks old compared to cutscene clips of a Ratchet & Clank game, lol.

But was that locked at 60?

"amateur team"? Guess what: if that team needs help it has complete Nintendo behind it. And Miyamoto is overlooking it too.
No - what they have shown so far and how they are marketing it with all that hype building - its more professional than you might think.
That why you are excited for it anyway.
