WiiU's biggest bottleneck is it's weak CPU, or so I repeatedly read.

The CPU is the bottleneck in all 3 really (though the PS4 and X1 are better suited for working around the issue).

| vivster said: Are you actually comparing RAM requirements for PC with consoles? By that logic PS4 and X1 wouldn't be able to run it either since they share their system RAM with the VRAM which is not included in the PC specs. |
Yes. I already know about what ram requirements for PC do, but the Wii U couldn't handle any of it. Even if you omitted two GB of ram for the operating system and other tasks the leftover 4 would still be too much for the Wii U.
I think it's more due to they have to rework the games to fit in the Power PC CPU that Wii u is based, and given that the third party tittles tend to sell less on Ninty hardware, it isn't a viable business for them.
Even the Wii U isn't getting PS360 PS4/One games like Far Cry 4 and Alien Isolations.
Third parties shouldn't bother with the Wii U. I want Nintendo's feet to stay by the fire.
I dont know anything about tech but im sure it doesnt work that way.

The minimum ram requirement on PC for The Witcher 3 and Assasins Creed Unity is 6 GB of ram and the recommended amount to run the way it should is 8 GB of ram. I am guessing it will be the same for Batman as well.Batman Arkham Knight will be minimum 2GB of ram...but is 4 GB is recommended, so the game should run smoothly on the Xbox One and PS4. Perhaps some negotiations for Arkham Knight could've been made, but graphics requirements could also hamper it, so theres that as well.
PC requirements (remember this also includes OS space) http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-3-system-requirements-announced/ http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=17044&game=Batman:%20Arkham%20Knight http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=17084&game=Assassins%20Creed:%20Unity Nintendo truly forced the matter out of the hands of AAA third party this gen for sure. Last gen not so much, but current gen for sure...and thats probably where the major political disagreements began for a start. |
Actually no. But I don't think there is much of a point in explaining since this thread actually exists...
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
| TheLastStarFighter said: Nah, Wii U isn't even getting the games that are on PS360. I'm sure the specs didn't help, but other issues are bigger. |
Legitimately it likely has very little to do with the specs and more to do with Nintendo doing things differently than Sony and MS.
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
For all practical purposes, those games are next-gen games that run only on Next-gen x86 systems, and WiiU is not even a consideration. The main reason, beyond anything, is the entirely different architecture (PowerPC and last gen capabilities).
Playstation 5 vs XBox Series Market Share Estimates
Regional Analysis (only MS and Sony Consoles)
Europe => XB1 : 23-24 % vs PS4 : 76-77%
N. America => XB1 : 49-52% vs PS4 : 48-51%
Global => XB1 : 32-34% vs PS4 : 66-68%

Hard to say really. Likely under utilization due to lack of information at first and a lack of trying to utilize once the info was given. Nintendo has been able to do great stuff with the Wii U, can't forget to mention Platinum as well, Namco and Koei. With Zelda U coming this year, Xenoblade Chronicles X as well, it certainly seems to be quite a capable machine lol. It's easy not to utilize power given, look at tetris for the PS4 lol.
