Who knows? they didn't celebrate doing XBO > WiiU + ps4 on NOV npd that much. 1 week isn't that great of a achievement imo.. if it was 1 month sure I would agree.

Lets not kid ourselves here. If the PS4 was over tracked by about 1M for the year, there is no chance the XB1 was not over tracked too. Truth is that novemeber NPD should have told us all we need to know being that both the PS4 and the XB1 were heavily over tracked

I mean.. isn't it easier to overtrack more ps4 sales outside of US than XBO? considering it sells 3x more.

XBO is probably over tracked some, but VGC had some weeks really close in sales. It only needs to be less overtracked. Not impossible.

overtracked here then.

Unless I'm reading things wrong VGChartz has it at 18.2m with one more week to add so pretty good tracking.

VGchartz: 18.2 as of December 20th

Real numbers: 18.5 as of January 4th (source)

I wouldn't call that good tracking, especially considering Christmas.

I don't understand.  How is this overtracking?

Unless PS4 sold only 300k during December 21st - January 4th (which includes Christmas!) it's overtracked, and it's been selling 750k to 900k the last 3 weeks according to VGChartz. Overtracked by a mile.

Ya, I would say 400k over tracked. I could see 700k being the sales 21-31 Dec. Note Sony says for year end so it is just 10 days.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Read the post again.

From the Japanese article:

※ 3. Actual sales volume is estimated by the Company investigation. Japan, figures from February 22, 2014 to January 4, 2015, North America from November 15, 2013 until January 3, 2015, Latin America, Europe from November 29, 2013 2015 until January 3rd year, Asia is a number of from December 17, 2013 to January 4, 2015.

IM seeing a lot of conflicting sources and people quoting and misquoting/mistranslating on various news sources so i will wait till the official announcement/confirmation myself.

The overtrackment is unfortunate but honestly mistakes like this are to be expected in the holidays with vgchartz tracking. That being said, what do they consider the holiday season? November and December?

From Japanese article:

 1. Japan and Asia January 4, 2015 from November 24, 2014, North America, Latin America, Europe until January 3, 2015 from November 23, 2014.

So, the last 6 weeks of the year

Ah ok thanks, so I'm assuming it's not that much overtracked in that time period.

Um, the only times a date is given is the 4th for software sales, and the 2nd for PSPlus subscribers.Geoff Keighly then said that 18.5 million was up to 1/4/2015

So what are you arguing? The news is that the PS4 sold 18.5 million (which the Reuters link definitely confirms).

Edit: Nevermind, I see the error. Fixed.

It's actually until Jan 3rd except for Asia where it's Jan 4th
