I just feel the wii u is better served by games that appeal to younger gamers as well as older gamers at the same time. These seem to be the games that get fantastic sales numbers on Nintendo systems. For example Mario kart, Mario 3D etc. Colourful fun games.

Nintendo themselves do types of games that have a certain magic but now we have two generations of Nintendo home console that are technically very weak. Trying to sell mature titles on such weak hardware is not successful.

Xenoblade sold very well all things considered.

Both will easily pass the 1 million mark. I just think they both deserve more.

I doubt it with Bayonetta 2, but Tropical Freeze will make it.

Sure they deserve more, but the 1 million mark is an important one when your install base is not even at 10 million.

If we compare this to W101, we should expect 1 million by the end of 2015. According to VGC of course. 

According to VGC, W101 sold more in its second year than in its first year.

Just cant read that 'mature' anymore when 90%+ of those games are made more for teens than actual adults.

GTA isn't mature at all, the game oozes teen/puberty. I played GTA III when I was 11 years old. I played GTA: Vice City when I was 12 years old. Then I abandonned the series.

It didn't sell much better on XBOX360/PS3. And the first game hit the bargain bin very fast, Bayonetta 2 is still selling at full price. 

If the vgchartz numbers are correct then the sales are good.

So what are the definition of a flop to some?

Were they really expecting more than a million games sold Bayonetta 2 on a small install base? While it probably could have done a little bit better all things considered I do not think ~500k is bad for this game.

Context is key.

How is that a mystery?

Hyrule Warriors --> ZELDA

Bayonetta 2 ---> a nobody in the gaming world

Besides, I think Bayonetta as a franchise is massively overrated by the vocal minority (who bought it). Most people don't want to buy a game like this because they wouldn't get much enjoyment out of it. You're seriously doing the same thing (mashing buttons) the entire time of the game. And yes, I own it. The story, graphics and gameplay are just bad.

The games arent even comparable in that sense. The total fanbase of Dynasty Warriors and Zelda franchise are a multitude larger than the Bayonetta fans. Not a mystery at all.

AC Unity is a bad next gen game. Bayo2 is a great game that is only "next gen" in catagory. It's not next gen in features. Galaxy is also good and plays amazing. Does that make it next gen? No. That makes it good. 


Yes, but what makes a game "next-gen"? Because its not something thats easy to tell apart anymore.


I see next gen as upholding or improving upon quality from last gen with better production values and subtle gameplay or feature tweaks. I cant think of any other way to describe next gen based on what the X1, PS4 and Wii U currently offer. How is next Forza 5 more next gen than Forza 4? How is 3D World more next gen than Galaxy 2. How is Mario Kart 8 more next gen than Mario Kart Wii? How is Need for Speed Rivals more next gen than Most Wanted? Id like to hear what other people consider to be next gen.

If AC Unity wasnt such a broken mess itd be as next gen as Far Cry 4. And while all the focus is always on its bugs early videos from Ubisoft claimed that enemy AI was completely revamped, as well as traversal, as well as building interiors and of coure the addition co-op. No one talks about those things, only missing faces and ridiculous pop-in. Ubisoft dropped the ball on that game big time. Id hate to be a developer on that team, to see ll your efforts overlooked because some greedy suit rushed the product to market.



I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime. 

The NX will be a 900p machine
