Something with a little ambition this time, please.
Have you seen their website? I wouldn't say that thing getting a revamp is an indication of a new game being revealed soon.
But I was already expecting an announcement at E3 for a 2016 release, so whatever.

Ambition
a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.
This applies to Retro's work on DK as well, one of the finest platformers you can play. Otherwise we would have had Sonic Boom quality.

DKTF was playing it safe; it was essentially a Wii game with a shiny coat of paint, and it took no risks.

Lol metroid downhill skiing.

Raven blade actually looked interesting to me. Maybe with better technology they can fix the technical issues. And some concept issues can be fix by taking inspiration from some of the recent games that have simular concepts. But, I think that idea is dead and I think the whole team was laid off or quit by now.
I honestly, would prefer something like raven blade than metriod. |
I prefer metroid over all else(besides zelda, but EAD 3 has that covered)

Prime 2 & 3 had much higher production values for their time/system and were much further outside Nintendo's comfort zone than TF.
Prime 3 also had the difficult task of selling motion controls in a hardcore action adventure game, yet succeeded with flying colours.
Tropical Freeze was a great game, but it felt like Retro were in cruise control, not pushing any boundariers.

I think DKCR was like Retro being Rare with Donkey Kong, while DKC:TF was Retro being Retro with Donkey Kong.
