Yep further information about already announced games plus 1-2 new announcements is about the most anyone should really expect.

End of january. They have to anounce release dates (code STEAM, fossil hunter, Youkai Watch, Majora's Mask, Splatoon, Yoshy WW, Mewtwo DLC...)

Nah, I don't see it, Nintendo is far too comfortable being in its hipster status for them to go 3rd party, a shame really, they could really do some big changes in this industry if they weren't their own titan.

They have been doing big changes on this industry for the past 30 years. Just a lot of people have been missing it because they're too cool to play a console with Mario as a mascot and prefer to be playing the stale CoD alike franchises every year...

Some infos about Indiegames coming to Wii U and 3DS

Mewto Smash Bros update release date

Some new games using amiibo (either new games or existing ones with a amiibo patch)

Some things I forgot obviously (as always)

I don't think there will be a release date for Splatoon yet, however

I don't expect a direct this month but in march / april time frame when they will release the New 3DS in western hemisphere.

 

Maybe they figure out some other ways to keep the momentum PR wise...

New 3DS is most likely going to release before the end of the fiscal year, which ends March 31, so they have a better chance of reaching their goal of 12 million shipped this year.
