Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Define "Nintendo Magic"

I just wanted to know everyone elses opinion on what "Nintendo Magic" is. It is said a lot around here but very few people can elaborate on it. Being a Nintendo fan, I can't really describe what it is, I can only describe events that trigger it within games. Examples include:

Escaping a Blue Spiked Shell in Mario Kart 8

Having a Gooba chase you, then side jump flipping and in mid air do a ground pound to kill it like in Super Mario 3D Land.

The intro of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. (Still give me goosebumps seeing how the Zelda Logo just fades in lit with white fire) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0p_AiydTxM

Link lifting the Giant Granite Block and throwing it like a feather in Ocarina of Time. SPOILER ALERT! (Skip to 1:04) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWeho4X5D08

The final showdown with Bowser in Super Mario 64 (THAT MUSIC and those COLORS on HIM!). Spoiler ALERT! (Skip to 2:50) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Geao9vP2RgA

Flying with the Wing Cap in Super Mario 64. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXqlsMGQguM

Zelda firing Light Arrows at Gannondorf to aid you in Wind Waker.

Also who can forget this??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBf7b5jPspQ (HUGE LAWL)...

If you have any other examples or care to share in words what your definition of Nintendo Magic is.. Please do (Even smart ass responses are welcome as long as they follow Forum rules of course ).

It means "I like Nintendo games," basically. People then try to extrapolate that into something tangible but without detail. It's no different than someone saying "Call of Duty magic" if they're a big fan of that series. It's completely subjective.

Personally, Nintendo games usually felt too shallow for me to find "magic" in them. Games like ICO, Suikoden, or older Final Fantasy titles, which pulled me into that world and made me care about the characters, those are the games I found magical.

Nintendo spent years understanding "Disney Magic". The magic is similar...and made to draw the attention hearts of children and families. Its also for people who are children at heart and like fun loving games.

it's just a buzz word for nintendo fans preference, not that it's bad thing. but for me i fail to see those "magic"

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Being able to pick a Nintendo game on blind faith and have 99,5% certainty that it will work flawlessly (and you can include online in that percentage).

Ya I pretty much agree with this, it basically comes down to Nintendo utilising a high level of quality and polish while having a bunch of games/characters that appeal to a wide variety of demographics. There are examples of other developers having games that appeal to many age groups but it seems the majority of games target specific audiences, It seems like most games are either for kids or for adults with very few being aimed equally at both sides of the spectrum.

On the other hand, a bunch of Nintendo games like Mario Kart, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Mario platformers are equally popular among kids, teens, adults, males and females.

Also i hope people don't take it the wrong way that u said people who are children at heart. That is not a derogatory term but I feel like alot of people on here will take offense to it, thinking ur calling Nintendo "kiddy".
