You don't think your original comment was misleading? And your subsequent comments on Page 1 continued in this fashion.
I read it thinking you were referring to the original Xbox One in China, since you omitted the term "import".
Had to browse through multiple posts before I even found out about the most important aspect of your original post.

At the same time, you seem to be derailing from one of the main issues, which is that Microsoft chose to region lock the console, and apply no-second-hand-sales-DRM, when many people in the past claimed that "it wasn't Microsoft's choice, but the Chinese government's."

This is a very interesting development. Especially after Microsoft said "We listen to the fans".
Here we see that they're still trying to get away with these things they 'now know' that fans don't want, whenever they can.

@Bolded final statement

This alone shows me just how little they can be trusted from a consumer standpoint.

A Microsoft lead gaming industry is a downright scary thought. I am shocked at how easily some forgive them, believe their BS about caring about gamers, then only to watch them try their anti-consumer tactics again, not even a year later.

The moment they see an opportunity to try and bring these anti-consumer practices back, don't hesitate for a moment thinking that they won't do it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried it again with the next gen.

That wont be an issue, since next gen will be digital only. This gen is basicly digital only, since discs aar only used for first time installs. Blurays cant keep up wth demand of data the hardware can handle.

What makes you think that the next gen will be digital only? The majority of gamers do not want that shit so it will not happen. MS is welcome to try that crap.

Because of the reason I already gave, in bold by the way.

I dont want digital only either. I just have to accept the fact that its just the way things will go.

We could see maybe buying licenses instead. Like a game purchse is a little card with a code. Then you can take your card to a friend house and either download the full game and only be able to play it with the card, or stream the game with the card like on psnow. Then sell it as you please.

For next gen to be phisycal again, we would need a better disc and reader tech that can deliver a lot quicker data than bluray, but less expensive and energy effiient, but this seems not worth the time and money to develop since we have litle sd cards that are smaller, quicker, dont scrach, cheaper, can hold more data and barely take any energy.

On that note, things can go the way of the vita and 3ds and other previous nintendo handheald. Little cartridges can be the way to save the phisycal games.. They stoped before on consoles cuz they where more expensive then cds, but they where always better. Now things have turned around. We could really see things go back to this format. I would actually love for this to happen. I dont have to be carefull with them, just put a bunch in my pocket and play whatever I have on the go or at  friends house.

This thread was interesting to read...

To be fair I don't understood why the Xbone is locked in China... makes no sense at all.

I have to agree.  It is really puzzeling.  Especially given the relative lack of software.  I think they were short sighted by two things.

1. The may have not anticipated how difficult the approval process would be.

2. It was kind of a rush job to be first.

Now you have a situation where the competition is cheaper AND has more games that are actually playable on their device by a factor of at least 5:1.

Being first in China was a big deal for them, but it also meant that Sony was able to watch and learn from them.    Now Sony gets to come off as a hero for not region locking and the added benifit is that they don't have the same lack of software as Xbox in China.

That being said, they could fix it easily with a firmware patch, but its obviously better to have it unlocked out of the box.

Maybe MS plan to sell XBO games for much cheaper in China than ROW. So by region locking it, they are stop cheap export of big games?

Who says that discs/reader need to be noticeably faster or more efficient than blu ray? None of the console companies or developers have said that they are gonna to or wanted to go that route. It will evolve into a better and more efficent disc and disc reader over but I doubt that it will leap frog right into digital only. It will not go that route because the consumers don't want that. MS tried some crap that the consumers didn't want and it bite them right in the ass even when a few people were saying MS's policies were the future.

I don't think that evil Xbox was waiting to region lock games in China to get full control over their consumers or whatever. Chances are MS was told thats what they have to do. They likely didnt take the time to make a counter argument and took a you cant beat the government stance. Sony seems to have pushed back and made an argument as to why region free was useful(as stated in the Sony exec quote above) and got China to loosen up on the rules. I still fully expect to see many games "banned" by the Chinese govt.

Why would evil MS go for their anti consumer policies if they knew Sony could go region free? The only logical reason is they assumed that Sony would have to play by the same set of rules as them.Iwata from Nintendo talked about the Chinese market saying that despite the console ban being lifted, there was still many problems(hurdles) with releasing a console out there.

I am curious how Sony will help make a dent in the market or how the Chinese react to consoles readily available in 10 or so years. They already have such a strong brand out there (PC) that it will be interesting who moves towards consoles that already hasen't(grey market).

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

If bluray was good enough, there would be no need to install the whole game to the hardrive on day one to do anyting. Patches is one thing, but the whole game?

No, no company has stated they want to go that route. Im just saying that there are better routes to go with next gen that could benefict them and us. Throwing money at developing new and better discs and readers are a waste when there already exisist better format like code cards and cartrideges and still be phisycal.

I kind of agree with you. It just that i belive there are much better alternatives that will make lossing the disc alone better, but keep some kind of physical format, Cartridges or code cards that resembels credit cards. Disc is what Im certain will die.

What MS tried was an ovbious anticonsumer practice that had only benefit to them and dint improve gaming or lower cost in any way. What I suspect that might happen, does have a lot of beneficts, mainly it could singnificantly lower production cost. No need for disc drives will lower cost on the hardware. Like the wii u is 50% of its volume a disc drive. For software the price of a litle cardtridege or code card are way chaper and safer to handle and still be resellable.

You do realize that the only problem with Blu-ray this gen is that both MS and Sony only went with 6x Blu-ray drives, right?  So, it's much quicker to install the game on the HDD, then load the game off of it.  By next gen they most likely have 32x Blu-ray drives cheap enough to throw into the next consoles.  That would make them around the same speed as a standard HDD.  Next year, they are also debuting 4K Blu-rays, which can hold up to 100GB.  I'm sure that is large enough for any game next gen.
