Forums - Nintendo - If Nintendo went Third-Party, what games would you buy from them?

I would buy everything... except for Super Smash Bros. As much as I love those series I can't play it with a Dualshit controller. I need a hardcore gamecube controller for it.

How about...this!

That would be perfect for those casual games like Street Fighter or Marvel vs Capcom. A hardcore game like SSB needs a Gamecube controller.

I don't really understand the idea some people have that Nintendo quality would plummet simply by going third-party. Seems like such a lack of confidence.

Anyway, I'd likely check out any new Zelda, though I wouldn't consider it an 'automatic buy' after Skyward Sword. Metroid possibly, Starfox possibly. I've never played Pikmin but it looks interesting.

Big fat 'maybe' on the Xeno stuff, as the videos I've seen of the combat do nothing for me at all.

Fire Emblem is the only 'definitely' I can think of.

Honestly, I can take or leave Nintendo games, for the most part. It's fine with me if they go third-party and it's fine if they don't. I do hope to get a cheap 3DS for Fire Emblem eventually.

I have no interest in any Nintendo games, just not my cup of tea. They should not go third party, though. I don't think the game quality would suffer, but they would lose that sense of community and cammaradery which unifies Nintendo fans.

You must not like many games then.

Oh, I like many games. Dozens of them. Nintendo, though, has nothing that interests me.

I love how one of the arguments for Nintendo going third party is that the games will sell to more audiences on the XBONE and PS4, yet the same people say, "none, I don't like Nintendo games" in this thread. So who are these games going to sell to that don't already have or will have Wii U's?

The first wave of their 3rd party games, become disappointed, and leave gaming forever as it slowly gets taken over by Microsoft-esque policies that eff over the consumer.

Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon. Because that's pretty much all Nintendo would make as a third party. Every third party is down to a small handful of core franchises, which is why I don't give a damn about third-party games anymore.

I'd get Zelda probably. Would sneak peek on others though, maybe I'd get more interested if core changes happened on their games, like things that I always disliked getting a fix.

The same ones, but only on PC and with original Nintendo controllers.

This. I would concentrate again on PC gaming, although as the years go by I have less extra time available for this hobby. That's why the WiiU is perfect for me, the concise catalogue keeps me focused.
