These third party topics needs to stop. MS and SOny are closer to becoming 3rd party than Nintendo is by a long long long mile and even they are far away.

Thank you for saying it.

I think it's more of the fact that people want them 3rd party because they don't want to buy Nintendo consoles for just the exclusives instead of the console itself and 3rd party included.

Oh no that is most certainly some folks but you'd be surprised how some people actually think that it is  GOING to happen.

I think it's fair to ask what Nintendo can expect from them when they do so.

Nintendo will never go Third-Party, thread close.

Chances are much higher that Microsoft will exit gaming and Sony will bankrupts than Nintendo will go Third-Party.

I love how one of the arguments for Nintendo going third party is that the games will sell to more audiences on the XBONE and PS4, yet the same people say, "none, I don't like Nintendo games" in this thread. So who are these games going to sell to that don't already have or will have Wii U's?

Basic concern trolling. For a great example of this, see: any thread containing the phrase "Nintendo needs to..." in its title. The concern barely masks a seething desire to see the company "do a SEGA" and slowly disappear, because that is obviously what's best for them. Iwata cannot understand this, which is also why he must go. The phenomenon can be referenced by an adage that I have decided to call "Pachter's Law" - named after the biggest Concern Troll of all.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

I will always buy Smash and Pokemon in any system as long as they fun and made for their devoted fans

If Nintendo went third party, doesn't that mean their games lack the hype and attention to get people to buy a system for their games? Or do people really dislike Nintendo's hardware?

mario kart(like gran turismo)
smash(like mortal kombat)
and zelda(like skyrim)
would be the next 3rd party blockbusters

I don't really understand the idea some people have that Nintendo quality would plummet simply by going third-party. Seems like such a lack of confidence.

A picture of the Sega logo?  What does that even mean?  That all companies are the same?  That if something happens once, it will always happen throughout time?  Sorry, but I can't even wrap my head around that.  I remember when people were like, "the most powerful hardware can never win a generation because it's never happened before," and I was like, "what the hell are you talking about?"  That's not even logic.  It means nothing unless you can tell me why Nintendo and Sega are the same.  Make an argument other than, "well, it happened to this one other company."

All I can gather is that people seem to think Nintendo's developers are so bad that they can't work on any other platform but their own, which doesn't even make sense to me.  That's an amazing lack of faith.  The only valid argument I can think of is that Nintendo games wouldn't generate nearly as much revenue as before, which is probably true, but they should still move a ton of software, more than enough to fund the company going forward.  The only way that wouldn't happen is if it turned out that Nintendo fans were fans of the hardware and not the actual games and that would just be pathetic.

Probably Mario Kart and Zelda. Nothing more.

Add me on Xbox: DWTKarma

Nintendo games would face strong competition from games in the same genres already on PS/xbox games, which I already dont have time for all of them. Would probably try out xenoblade, but thats about it really.

I'd still want to them to go third party though, just because they would bring in gamers who would then go on to try games they otherwise wouldnt have.

Zelda, maybe some Mario game to try it out.

Zelda most definitely, maybe Smash, Monolith Softs games and Pokemon (if they get off their lazy asses and finally bring that series to home console in its full glory)
