Ms has as much of the right intention as a video game console maker for a gamer then sony does. I am still disappointed at sony for the fact that they still refusing to provide external hdd support even though they are advertising ps4 with slogan for the gamers. If it was for the gamers, then we should by now have external hdd support like xbox one has.

Did you forget the whole no used games or online only? Has sony ever done anything remotely like that? Then how did you come up with "Ms has as much of the right intention as a video game console maker for a gamer then sony does."? Isn't it easier to install a ssd or hdd into a ps4 than a xbox one? Sony made it easy to switch it out if you want or upgrade your hdd without it voiding your warranty. Only reason you would mess with an external hdd is because MS will void your warranty if you install an internal one. :D

i haven't forgotten about that. I actually liked theere initial model where they tried to make ti liek steam. The whole used game thing, i knew it wouldn't last very long. true enough , it didn't last long. Nope with the external hdd all i have to do is plug i behind  my xbox one and i cna use it straight away , whereas withps4 hdd, it s an inconveniance to have to open the ps4 and remove the hdd and then put the new on in and screw it again. Not only that the cost of getting a ps4 hdd is far more expensive then getting a simple external HDD.  Also once you have installed the new hdd all the games you installed into your new hard drive, would eat up part of your new hdd space. That means you will get less at the start , making your hdd fill up much faster, whereas with xbox one you can access both at teh smae and you rnew HDD would not get used up by reinstalling all your games you had installed in the previous HDD. At the end of the day, for the gamers would mean gamers spend less and enjoy gaming instead of spending more money . Sony just did it that way because they think it will cause less hacking or less pirace with their way. Same thing as to why psvita still to this day , don't use a microsd card as a memory stick . Sony like MS only care for teh mopney they make by selling their machines

Just look up a video of how to install a hdd or ssd into a xbox one. What were you saying about unscrewing something?

i would imagine getting to the HDD means opening the ps4 if i am not mistaken. That would reuire unscrewing the screws . Thats what i meant. I am sure i can follow the videos  but its an inconeveniant and costly whereas i can purchse for hundred buck a 3tb plug in external HDD lol. no need to do any hing but plug and use lol.  I would expectsony to have relaise that with this gen , games will be at least 5ogb in space , therefore an external hdd would eb a logical decision. guess we will never kwno why they decided to not go with external hdd support

ugh. You didn't look up any vids did you? I was trying to make a point with it. Here's a link to a vid on installing a ssd into a ps4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8_nt2Dwf78 You only have to remove a panel (no screws) and one screw that holds the hdd in place to remove the hdd. it only takes a few minutes to do. Here's a link to a vid on installing a ssd into a xbox one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNXe_nEjoeo You have to take a bunch of stuff out to get to the hdd plus you void the warranty External hdd's are good for transporting data or using it as a backup. It's slower than a typical internal hdd. If you're using it as a upgrade to your internal hdd, it will just make your console slower and download/install speeds slower. What the hell do you need 2 tb for? How much porn do have? Installing an ssd actually improves how fast your console is and your install times. You can get ones with plenty of space on 'em for a decent price. My whole point is that the ps4 doesn't need to use an external hdd because you can upgrade your internal one easily for the same price and it be faster.

I have seen one video long time back but none recently.  Yea i was trying to say that its an inconveniance to do all of that work just to add a new hdd where we in todays world have external hdd. Plus if you  install  a 2tb and redownload all  of your previous you will only have 1.5tb left which is whole alot different to how its done on xbox one and on top getting those kind of drives for ps4 are far moore expensive for less storage.  I have a 3tb for xbox ond the speed to download and installs are pretyt fast. no different to the speed when using the internal hdd.  For games. i already used 1 tb of the 3tb i bought and its only been few months. Its easy to fill up .  Nah why to download porn when i have a gf lol. Plus  you can stream instead :P.  In nz the hardirive required for ps4 is more expensive then a normal external HDD.  Why would i pay more and get less space.  The whole point is, sony advertised ps4 as  a console for the gamers and how its all about the gamers. Sadly thats not true when it comes to storage. having to buy expensive ones just to upgrade it and avoid external hdd , defeats the purpose of being console user friendly.

You would have to install an ssd to be able to compare the improvements to a regular hdd. There's a big difference. I don't know how you manage to fill up that much storage space. Unless you're downloading a lot movies or porn and having a lot of digital games. I don't think most gamers use that much data storage on consoles. You can still have lots of porn and still have a gf or wife. haha.  The xboxone lets you use an external hdd's but you get no better system improve from it. The ps4 lets you upgrade/mod your internal hdd with whatever you want. Sony delivered on it's promise.

But the cheapest ssd have only small storage and the one thats alot especially 1tb is way to small for gaming and not worth the price. i rather buy a new gpu for the price of 1tb ssd. With that price i can buy 15tb external hdd for 1tb of ssd. Hahaha i don't dl porn anymore, its all streaming. i kwno a friend who had 1tb of porn haha.  Ask the people here on vgchartz. If i amnot msitaken , alot of them have already upgraded they hdd for eitehr xbox one or ps4 alread.  On ps4 i alreay have close to 20 boxed gmaes not including digital , same for xbox one lol. the installation size of these games are huge and 51gb is far to small for it.  They should haveprovided more options. the whole idea of having used games is because gamers can't afford to buy any new game . Same applies for HDD

Once you reach a certain amount of storage space, it's enough. 1tb is plenty. You're just insane with how much data storage you want. You should just delete some the game data of the games you're not playing but kept the save data. I personally just get a decent size ssd and use that. I never have any issues with storage space. I delete the game data of the game I'm no longer playing. Why did you bring up that about used game?

The convince of external is so much better.  You can bring your games over to a friends house instead of the whole console.  As for speed the external on the X1 is faster then the internal.  As far as 2TB?  Of course you need it esp with games getting bigger and bigger.  If you are going digital it fills up rather fast.  Not too mention all the games updates and such.

I will say MS has been much more transparent and tells you exactly the update path and notifies it's community when it's down and what not. They are much more responsive on a whole.

I have to disagree with you, I just added 4 TB to my WiiU.  1 TB may be enough for you, but you are not everyone, and some of us have different needs. I have a hundred plus games I can launch with a touch. I bought a console to spend time playing games without having to manage memory constantly because I have a data ceiling.  If I wanted to spend a significant amount of time managing things I'd game more frequently on PC.

MS never has or never will care about gamers. They always quit supporting their old console 12-24 months prior to the next consoles release, and as soon as they thought they had a stranglehold on the console market they announced the terrible "pre-180" policies. If it were not for Sony's strong showing XB1 fans would be dealing with that BS right now. It weird this GEN, even the biggest MS fanboy has to be gratefull to Sony this GEN.

If MS ever gets in a dominent position again expect more anti consumer policies to follow shortly after.

So, according to you, Nntendo doesn't care for gamers considering the EXTREME lack of support they showed their most successful console, the Wii, even before they announced the WiiU? And both MS and Sony has announced several things that gamers would deem "anti-consumer" (paying for mp would be one thing) yet Sony get a free pass. Interesting :).

Nintendo is the most consumer friendly brand, they just arent third party friendly.

I think that you're exaggerating with how much time you think you would be spend managing your storage space. I never said that i was everyone. You must buy a lot of digital games.
