Sexism is quite widespread in gaming, and Nintendo is part of the problem - but I'd say they're doing a better job than most to try to stay away from that.

If you don't think games are sexist, or that Nintendo haven't had sexism in their games, or "who cares anyways", then you don't understand what sexism is and why it's bad.

Explain how games are discriminating against a specific sex. By definition since thats what sexism means...explain it.

well some are, like cod, they teach you that men are disposal bodys and that its totaly normal to kill em for silly reasons(or what ever you call the cod story)

Objectifying a gender is sexism, and you dont quite understand that - Im guessing - from one of your replies just a few posts up. Stripping down Samus to her bikins could be considered sexist. Ill try to dig up a good youtube link about what is sexism and what is not, its quite good since it uses comics as an example

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Being that lets play happens a lot these days, would you happen to have a video clip of that?

Wow....I really feel for pinup models (or models in general which we use as muses). I mean...they aren't fictional characters like Samus...who many didnt even know was a female until fairly recently. Strippers should really watch out as well...not only women but men as well. Not only them but pornstars. People will never stop objectifying the other sex...its primal, especially by virtue of our sexual nature. Trust me...women can be just as bad as us in strip club. The problem is no one ever talks about it.

Some people like...to be objectified, while some don't. They like to be looked at and a lot of people forget that there are many mentalities in this world.

I've heard women talk about men they would definitely get with based off of physical appearance alone in front of their husband. As I said...its primal...when the conscious button shuts off it happens. The question is can you keep it at a healthy level and not endanger the rights or life of another. Admiring is fine, drawing character is artistic experession and should be taken from no one.

Now if a man said a woman is worthless unless she puts out...thats sexist. Objectifying a person is not healthy for a professional relationship as well. It takes away the respect one would have for another had they been taken seriously in the first place. A chauvinist male is sexist.

Friends with benefits is a form of objectification....so....where is the sexism in it? As I said its purely primal. It has nothing to do with respect, just pure blind attraction with no depth.

I was just watching the FFXV trailer again and saw people bitching about Cidney and the outfit she was wearing, same with Quiet in MGS V. Then I think, "do you bitch to a woman in real life when they're showing off their cleavage or wearing skin tight jeans"? No? Why are they bitching about video game characters then?

Samus taking her armour off as a reward for doing well in the games isn't sexism.

Soon people will say women having boobs is sexism.

The sexuality = sexism argument is horseshit.

Humans are sexual beings, not robots. Sexuality is an intrinsic part of who we are, and to try and to try to stifle that is as futile as it is laughable. Samus wearing a bikini is not oppression, any more than Nathan Drake's perfect arse is.

do you study this gender bs, or why do you repeat talking points which they use to brainwash people?

if i like to be looked at, im not objectifying myself, its about power, somebody forces somebody else to watch, or to be naked, or in a panda costume or to something else, and you cant force a object to do something, because you allways force someone to do or not do against his will, and objects have no will by definition.

'B-but, Samus is a woman, therefore she needs to wear sweatshirts and unrevealing garments! And Nathan Drake's ass isn't revealed enough. That's not oppression, that's just me liking da booty.' - the average SJW
