TLoU got over 200 GOTY wins last year iirc. Complete domination there and the most ever for any game. This is despite the competition from GTAV (a game with 97 on meta!!)

Whilst true this is mostly due to the fact that there are more and more sites popping up doing their own GOTYs.
Therefore hardly comparable to previous GOTY award winning games.

Indeed, but it will be interesting if this year's winner will be able to top it. I somehow doubt it.
