What the fuck lol?

I didn't get the rebuttal. I enjoy games that have intelligent plots, complex and nuanced characters, I don't necessarily care about the violence. Mario has none of those for example.

Games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Fallout, Last of Us (though it was overrated) suit my pallet more and those games will never make it on a Nintendo platform.

Because you named Mario as an example, i cant take this seriously -_-  (Really Mario?)

Sure because what else do you have? Zelda has a simple plot and monotone characters. Metroid is kinda cool so I'll give you that. But what's left in their repository? Kirby, Donkey Kong, F-Zero, Star Fox, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Kid Icarus, among others. All those are very simple games, none I would label though-provoking or emotionally powerful.

You don't have much left except for maybe Fatal Frame. Nintendo is simply not a publisher for people who enjoy mature games.

~Star Fox (dont know why you dont think this counts)

~Metroid

~Fire Emblem (huge one)

~Sin+Punishment

~Paper Mario

~Mario+Luigi RPGs (more of a fun hearted series)

~Kid Icarus (Yes Uprising fits all your "intelligent plots, complex and nuanced characters" better than most games do, especially that this is a HH game)

~W101

~Mother

~Xenoblade

~Pikmin

~Golden Sun

~Advance Wars

~Codename STEAM

mass effect 3 is on wii u.  and bioshock and fallout are old pc series that got dumbed down when they rebooted them for a broader audience...

lets give credit where credit is due shall we? Sony did a much better job at that than nintendo.

I assume you´re being sarcastic, aren´t you ? :)

i was joking, but there is a truth in it too. Sony killed off the vita as much as the 3DS and smartphones did.

Not trying go Downplay Vita but your right. Mobiles/Tablets Hurt the HH markt to a great extent and Nintendo has support/audience/etc with 3ds. Sony didn't try like they did with the PS4

they did try. but their entire strategy was just not gonna work. it bombed, and they abandoned it.

Support in 2012 wasnt bad, and 2013 as well. Just that this year felt abandoned.

No mature games on Nintendo systems?

The company's mascot is a mass-murdering blue collar drug addict hallucinating his way to sex with a shroom-dealing porn star.

I am a mature gamer who likes his mature games. Wii U has one good mature game and that's Bayo 2. I'm not going to pop 300 dollars to play one game.

That's really too bad you restrict yourself in that way.

I'm gonna drop an extended quote from spemanig's sig:

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms.

When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -C.S. Lewis

Think about this one. I think it'd really serve you well read this over and apply this to your own gaming life.

Give this guy a break. Its his choice, like you have your own chices. No need to put him down just because you disagree with him.

It's not a matter of disagreement, it's a matter of embracing a silly mindset like "mature games for mature gamers like me." Play games for how they play, not what coat of paint they have.

Excellent historic quote from C.S. Lewis, equally excellent point of yours.

I personally think that by now, videogame consumers should be done with that idea that only "mature" games are "true" games. Each one may have its own preferences, but it´s silly to disregard certain series/genres just because they don´t have "mature" content. That´s the kind of attitude that doesn´t help the market at all.

Well. I´m gettin too off-topic here.

I disagree. Zelda series, Fire Emblem series,  Fatal Frame, Earthbound, Pokemon, Kid Icarus, Xenoblade etc. have extensive plots full of characters crafted with very particular or complex personalities. Fire Emblem Awakening, Skyward Sword, Majora´s Mask, Pokemon Black/White, Xenoblade Chronicles, among others, are full of emotive moments and  certain points evoke even moral matters. It´s all in its story and gameplay elements, not  only in its graphics.

It´s all in the way you want to see things. It seems that you prefer games with movie-like cinematics rather than intriguing stories. Good stories can be told even with no graphics at all (Virtue´s Last Rewards, Hotel Dusk, Ace Attorney etc. etc. etc.)
