Oh why god?!Pokemon has the same votes with mario in coney's thread,this means that pokemon aren't cool?I will stay to this generation,seeee 3DS zelda games which don't even have the half of the sales of Mario kart 7 SM3DLAND NSMBROS2(games which saved 3DS back in 2011-2012 and weren't heavily bundled)!And zelda hadn't been and might never be the system seller that mario is!Also zelda is unfortunately irrelavant in Japan :(.
Plus the mario spin-offs which are remain successes too!
Mario sales on wii u are because of bundles....Unfair generalization!People could ignore these bundles if they weren't keen on mario(NSMBU is great as all 2D mario)!Imagine the sales of smash and mario kart without MARIO...You haven't seen that nintendo on videos and advertisments of these games focuses on MARIO?It is even on the center of the cover arts,on mario kart is only him...
p.s All regognise mario,as for zelda there are many who think that this is the name of Link...and all mario themed or mario games gameplay videos on youtube have hyper-tremendous views!

Hmm, I never really found Mario 'cool'. Very likable and fun, but never 'cool'. But I was a 90s kid, so the adjective 'cool' was reserved for things like Crossfire and anything that started with X-treme. Not so much for chubby Italian plumbers.

Actually there is a lot of truth to this statement.  Why does the hardcore complain about sequels the most and play the newest games?  Because we have all played the old stuff to death.
