I know this may sound crazy, but I think the best combo is Madden and Fifa. That will grab the American / European market fast.

Madden could so it in USA as the game has virtually no competition, but against Fifa there's PES which was big in the PS2 era and could make a comeback.

 

Personally I don't think there's any franchise that can do it.

Personally, none.. Only GTA could give MS the first place, but it simply won't happen!

With out Halo, there would be no xbox at all, so essentially that one game saved a whole system.

He was saying that one big game cannot make you reach #1 in sales, which he is right about.

Imo, MS is pretty good on the a FPS/Action genre and sports genre as well.

However, if they buy ES and come out with a moddable Skyrim sequel, I would def buy me an Xbox....

Do they have any non-shooter action game or sports game? I don't think so.

You can't. Closest thing to this would be Square Enix and the network effect.

Force Square Enix to put their games on Windows Phone and Windows 8.x, with XBL-integration.
Then, you know, make the rest of their games exclusive to XBOX.

PS2 155M - XB 24M

PS3 84M - X360 84M - PS3 selling more weekly now

PS4 15M - XOne 7M

 

It looks like they never were number 1.



Bet with jetforcejiminy: PS4 will pass the Wii lifetime numbers.

Call of Duty, GTA, maybe Madden or FIFA.

Though, with Madden, I don't think MS could keep it exclusive to Xbox and still keep the exclusive license, so Madden probably doesn't qualify.
