Forums - Gaming - [Kotaku] Next year's big Assassin's Creed is set in Victorian London UPDATE: Confirmed real by Ubisoft!

London is a lot more interesting than the American Frontier and some random islands.

Delicious, delicious games.

Unless there is a scripted dance scene with chimney sweepers and after that you see the sunset of the city, not interested.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

So now it will make sense that everyone speaks with a British accent?

In all seriousness I can't believe they wasted the most amazing AC setting of all time (The French Revolution) on that pile of buggy-half-assed crap...

Maybe they just suck at revolutions?

The French?

Ubisoft. American Revolution was the dullest Assassin Creed game.

guarantee thats inspired by seeing the order 1866

So Unity 2.5?
At least i hope they will make it right (from the beginning)

I have no shame to admit i'll be getting it.. But they should remake the Ezio Trilogy in this engine.. *someone at ubisoft is now reading this and hears the $$$ flowing

That would be a great way to take a year off. I'd buy it for sure

But anyway, I nearly yelled in excitement about this. Yes I am a Londoner and have been crying for this for years, I just can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note, I'm basically an AC fanboy, but the series has not matched AC II. Unity is a long long way from the broken experience I was warned of, but has loads of issues in terms of design and the framerate isn't great. But it's still fun!

I don't understand the criticism of this, it shows once again that these games aren't made in a year and there's no reason not to make 1 every year if they can keep coming up with great ideas. It's not like they're leaving out content, III was 30 hours, IV was 30 hours and Unity will be at least 20 hours (I might not do as much messing about as IV....). Every year they come out with new stuff and generally improve, but they could do a little more to keep a control of the focus of the game. Unity does appear to have 16,000 things to do

Note they also haven't announced this, it has been leaked

The only thing that's been lacking for a while is the story. III was poor other than Haytham and they seem to making exactly the same mistakes with Unity. But IV was decent.

As others have said, I would play it just for the setting. SO BRING ON LONDON!!!!!!!!!!

Then go and finish the Getaway next gen please Sony!

hopefully this game works better than Unity

Confirmed real!
UPDATE (3:59pm): Ubisoft has sent a statement out to several outlets, not including Kotaku.
''It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players.''

I can't get hyped for this, no matter how good they try to make it look. I don't see myself pre ordering or buying another AC game day one after the Unity fiasco.

I'm not buying any Ubisoft published game. Regardless of developer, it's very rare for a rushed product to work properly at launch.
