different criteria. or you thing when they were reviewing the game they were thinking in destiny lol

Pretty much as you'd expect.

It jumped to 80!

Pretty much what I expected.. 80 is a pretty good Metascore for a game like Captain Toad!

I was expecting low 80's. It might still make that. Either way I know I'm interested in it, even if the reviewers feel it isn't good enough. It's from a AAA developer, but isn't AAA in scale, so anyone expecting reviewers to treat it better were kidding themselves.

Well, DK: TF only has 83% on metacritic and is easily my favorite game on the Wii U. My least favorite so far is Bayonetta 2, I don't really understand the high scores for that game. You're doing the same thing over and over again, graphics are pretty bad and it feels like a button masher to me... I can't remember all the different combos while I'm fighting anyway. I can't be bothered about the story so I end up skipping all the horrible cutscenes and the setting is just weird. Guess I don't like any hack & slash game for that matter. At least in GoW you have a decent setting, story, graphics and some variety in gameplay (puzzle solving). 

it'll tie with something like pushmo world, which in some ways it resembles, and get a clean 80. i think most of the problems are with length and the lack of a proper menu (it's more like a storybook).

anyway it was always a day one buy for me. day zero actually, already have it reserved.

Awesome. Getting Smash soon for now but this will definitely be my January purchase.

Destiny has tons of more room for error. It tried to achieve many things and sadly, failed on some. This toad game is just a mario-spin off puzzler, Nintendo played it safe.
