Still not sold, I don't trust Disney to not pump the movie full of ridiculous, out-of place gimmicks, bumbling teens and an overload of CGI which will add nothing but cost to the production and nothing to the narrative.

I remain skeptical. It could be alright but I never believed, and still don't be believe that this will be great, or even close.

They can't do worst than Lucas did with the prequels. After all, Episode I to III are oversaturated with CGI and bumbling aliens and droids. Also, Disney seems to be doing a great job with Marvel movies so I'm confident it'll turn out alright.

Signature goes here!

Those X-wings flying over the water... goosebumps!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Looks ok, need to see more honestly.

Nintendo and PC gamer

I'm going to remove my roof otherwise my hype goes right through it!

Seems a little too "boom boom action", but we'll see how it turns out

I thought the sith lightsabre was a bit weird with the two little lightsabres on the side.

Well, the prequels were indeed a hot mess, I agree with that. As for the Marvel movies; I can't help but think that Marvel franchises are more prone to the fantastic and child-like and is a better fit for a company like Disney, Star Wars relies more on narrative, characters and mythology and I don't think they can pull it off. The greatest problem to overcome for Disney though, has to be the massive expectations of such a huge and diverse fanbase, someone is bound to be disappointed no matter what happens.

Hey, I hope I'm wrong and that I'll enjoy these new movies, but my lack of faith is disturbing...

Yeah there is no way to go but up after Jar Jar Binks.

The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith are some of the worst movies of all time.

This movie will be like Batman Begins - it will be used to restore faith in the franchise, while the sequel (Ep. 8) will then be the true masterpiece.

Honestly, when I saw him pop up, I thought it was Donald Glover, so my immediate reaction was 'this must be a joke'.
Also, all stormtroopers are clones of boba, so either that was actually a rebel in disguise, or they've changed canon.

Clones got phased out, too expensive I believe

Also remember, this is 30 years later

Yup. And it even happened before episode IV, as you may know.

OT: This trailer left a bad taste in my mouth. While it's far too early to draw any conclusions about the movie, that ridiculous lightsaber set the tone of the whole trailer.

Like someone said in the comments, it almost looks fan-made.

I was going to say that, but I don't know if we can really know anything given most of the canon is dead? I haven't watched all of the Clone Wars TV series as I'm not sure it was broadcast in the UK (they certainly didn't tell me...), but that would have been too early.

I guess Rebels may be the only official source of cannon, but I guess we'll have to live without absolutely certainty

Though I definitely disagree with your opinion on the trailer, I hope the film itself can change your mind in a year

The trailer is weak. Everything that was shown I already knew it was going to appear. It doesn't tell us what the plot of the movie is, doesn't show us the characters. The only new element shown is that slightly modified light-saber.

I know it's just a teaser, but I am really looking forward for this movie, and the trailer looks... generic at best.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
