Remarkable comeback! Seriously, if the contest between the PS4 and the X1 was a heavy weight boxing match we are just half way though round 2, enough time has not passed for a comeback because no one has gone anywhere it has only just begun, both fighters are looking good, strategies may have already changed but a KO has not been delivered, the PS4 is ahead on points at this stage but there is still a long way to go before the end and both are showing that they are up for a long, intense and interesting fight.

Umm no, the fight is way over world wide, the gap will grow weekly.

I agree that the PS4 will keep on totting up the points but can anyone say a KO has already been delivered? The PS3 was outsold WW for a while by the 360 and made a remarkable comeback. With that in mind and the fact we have only just begun I am saying it is too early to say we have had a comeback for the X1 and also to early to declare an absolute winner!

PS3 was never outsold by X360 once PS3 launched in Europe. Is just that it launched 1 year later in USA/Jap and 15 months later in Europe. Is like to say PS2 always outsold Wii even in 2007-2010 because PS2 had more total sales than Wii......(it's an extreme example but you get my idea).

In PS4/XBO case, both launched the same month, and PS4 has sold much much better in the same timeframe than XBO and still does. There's no comparison between PS3 and XBO.

Lol, seriously? In no way did it beat PS3 and 3DS' comebacks

What?? The 360 never made a comeback the ps3 did, thats the point, ps3 outsold 360 WW day 1 but launched a year earlier..... It is NOt too early to say, where will sm make up sales?? 360 and even more so X1 has no chance in europe, asia or ROTW.......even if MS wins the us (They won't) they will be way behind WW.

I think people may be celebrating a bit too soon. M$ has traditionally always done well during the holidays. This is nothing new nor special. It isn't a comeback either o~o unless it maintains itself throughout all of next year then it isnt a "comeback", it's the effect of a price drop. People need to learn the difference. Hey, the price of gas went down too, must mean it's also having a comeback oh and there's a sale at Wal-Mart right now too! It must also be having a comeback. I honestly doubt it'll sustain current sales, however I could be wrong, but I doubt that I am.

PS3 was in much worse shape.  5M behind (if not more?) console was 200 more, terrible PR, etc...   Hell, you can make a case that Naughty Dog saved Sony.  And of course a ton of people (like me) bought it for the BD player.

Sony's first year of the PS3 outsold the XBox 360. They were outselling their last years and thats how they caught up. Even at $600 they were taking narrow bites at Microsofts lead. By the time they dropped the price in 2008 and added MGS4 into the mix that was when the major shift happened. Naughty Dog is Sony. They've been Sony since the end of the PS2 era. They don't resemble the PS2 and PS1 Naughty Dog at all. Sony reformed the company and set it on the warpath. I wish MS could say they did that for Rare, but they cannot. MS cannot beat Sony with an even launch, again...its why Microsoft risked the integrity of the 360 to beat Sony for the years head start and look up any article that speaks on Microsofts motivations for the year head start. MS knew the Xbox wasn't complete.

MS can only pose a threat to Sony through desperate acts.

1. Mad dash to get the Xbox 360 to market causing one of the biggest failure rates in the history of not only videogames, but consumer electronics.

2. Was caught off guard by Sony announcing the launch of the PS4 and went into a mad dash to fix their clock speed. Luckily for all of us MS was mostly complete with the console, but certain online features were not finished. Of course thats where MS always beats Sony though.

Name 1 month that the XB1 has beat the PS4 since launch ???

Still waiting.

What comeback do you speak of ?

Am much as I hope so, no. PS3 is the ultimate comback kid and The Xbox One has no chance in europe. Not until its at least 35 - 50EUR less than the PS4 on a permanent basis.

PS3 takes the crown for biggest comeback.

I do get your point :) and understand that the 360 was a year earlier, if I am looking right? the 360 was though the remainder of 2007 still outselling the PS3 quite a bit at stages even with the availability of the PS3 in Europe going by VGC? I am saying that looking at the overall figure as it stands now between the PS4 and X1 it is premature as it was also premature to look at the numbers the 360 was getting and what it's total was at the time, that was my comparison in a way. It was then and is now too early to declare a winner and any kind of comeback. The PS3 had a tough time and a mountain to climb imo for various reasons, a lot were tempted to think it was contest over and the 360 had it in the bag, yet it kept on and eventually ended up overtaking the 360.

The PS4 is doing amazing and with aligned launches it's so easy to compare, I just don't think you can delacre a winner or that there has been any kind of comeback yet.

Just have to agree with some people here. PS3 had the best comeback. Many people thought it was going to be stuck way back in 3rd place, and it didn't.
