Forums - Gaming - Only Nintendo have had a good year for genuine exclusives

when the only games on your platform are exclusives and usually only come to be via your direct involvement... you are bound to have good games. even though they may just be 4-6 of them per year. So yeah, you are right.

Come the PS4/XB1s second year though. They would blow the wiiU outta the water. Especially when you consider that outside their exclusives, every multiplat game for them is an exclusive for them cause they won't be on the wiiU.

the majority of wii u software isn't exclusive, just saying.

Only Sony and MS have had a good year for genuine 3rd parties

Sound Salty

Why so? Like most people, I prefer having a large choice of 3rd party games than having to pick among a few exclusives

But third party's were only good in quantity this year. many dissapointments.

If you count Japan, I'm willing to be that the PS4 will magically have more true exclusives than the Wii U.

Unfortunately, they're also extremely niche.

Is that really true? I thought the reason for PS4 selling comparatively bad in Japan is that it has near to no japanese games. I think you might confuse it with the PS Vita, that has some good niche japanese exclusives.

It's only natural. Nintendo makes the best games. People seem to disagree with that fact though.

Most likely because it is by no means a "fact".

As for the OP, well obviously. Sony didn't even try this year. Infamous was great, LBP seems good, but Drive Club is still a mess. Ninty had a great year, but they win pretty much by default. Next year will be more interesting.

As to why Sony can't produce good exclusives as fast as Ninty can, well the kind of games Ninty is making obvioulsy take considerably less tim. Not saying that they're better or worse (that's obviously debatable) but if Naughty Dog were making a Crash game, it'd be out by now. Obviously Uncharted takes much more time. Whether it's one's cup of tea or not, is besides the point.

But no Bayonetta and Monster Hunter.

DKC Tropical Freeze is the most underrated game of the year. Some really awful reviews out there that make no sense to those of us who actually played it. Totally brilliant game, sadly missed by too many

Its because too many whined about Metroid :-/

... and now because of that whining we may not get another DKC for another decade :(

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

For every 5 people that didn't like Destiny, there are 10 that loved it. For every person complaining about how terrible Watch_Dogs was, there are masses who loved it but simply don't post about it online. Just because certain games get praise from reviewers and gamers online doesn't mean they are enjoyed more than games that don't get that high scores.

Sure, critics didn't like Soul Sacrifice enough, but I know I did and so did thousands of other gamers. Is it regarded a disappointment? Sure. But how does that prevent 2013 being a great year for vita for me and others? Same with people who enjoy Titanfall, Cod, Destiny, and even Assassin's Creed.

Also quantity helps. It's the reason I stick with Sony. I may not like COD, Destiny, and Fifa but I love Infamous, Dragon Age and Shadow of Mordor.

I'd argue Vita has had just as good of year for exclusives as Wii U. We had games like DanganRonpa 1 and 2, Tales of Hearts R, Freedom Wars, Demon Gaze, and Senran Kagura. All fantastic games.

DanganRonpa 1 and 2 in particular shits on everything else that released this year.
