Forums - Gaming - Only Nintendo have had a good year for genuine exclusives

I disagree, I think both Infamous: Second Son and Driveclub were good games, and both come from developers which are not major developers for Sony. Once ND, PD and SSM come out with a PS4 exclusive, it will win easily.

So your adding new games for PS4 exclusives but ignoring next WiiU exclusives? Like i dont know, LoZ U, XCX, Splatoon, Star Fox (this we dont know about, but has potential), next 3d Mario, etc?

Win Easily with PS4  exclusives? No, Gamers win easily, nuff said.

Edit: Then there is the fact Nintendo's resources are heavily split as they 100% support 3ds that comes out with games better than many console ones. Ex: Fire Emblem: Awakening + LoZ ALBW + KI:U to name a few, that goes for vita, but obviously much less 1st party support and non existant Western Support.

Not really...

Looking at the announcements for 2015 it will remains so.

PS4/Xbox One/PC share almost all their games while Wii U has many great exclusives.

You're saying Sucker Punch aren't one of Sony's major developers?

Excuse me, I need to go cry in a corner...

They aren't as important as ND, PD or SSM, and apart from Infamous: Second Son which was a very good game all their games have been average.

Yep, its Nintendo! It would be surprising if they didn't!

True, they make the best exclusives. In my opinion, they always have. Nintendo is a different beast than Sony (who, if you ask me, was pretty weak until last gen) and M$ (who, imo have only a few huge franchises). Good for them.

But let's not forget the big picture. Nintendo has no choice but to carry the Wii U almost entirely on their shoulders. And, aside from internet bragging rights, the exclusives argument doesn't mean much to average Joe gamer. Bayonetta 2, the game of the year, won't even get a second look from most.

Sony was far from weak before PS3 came out. GT was at its peak on PS2, and it had masterpieces like God Of War, God Of War II and Shadow Of The Collosus.

*Looks at game collection*

*realizes that all of those games are in my home right now plus others*

*still disagrees with you*

Guess I should have said, "In my opinion."  Because, from where I sit, Sony's strength has always been from its third party franchises.  I won't derail the thread, though.  You'll think what you think and I'll think what I'll think and the world will keep on spinning.

This is why friends are important, so you don't have to carry your console by yourself

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I agree, Nintendo has the best exclusives this year, but still, what an awful year to be a gamer.

Ps: remove hw from that list, it is an exclusive but is average a best

If you don't like hack and slash games or platformers than I hope you like a kart racer or a port of Smash because that's all that's released this year.

Also no love for Sonic Boom?

Also literally having to wait months in between games is a poor reflection on Nintendo to keep supporting their console. All they do is make games so there is no excuse to have such a poor lineup, even the 3DS suffered this year in terms of software.

Look at the NES by comparison, it never would have been the breakout success that it was if only for first party stuff. 3 Mario games of which the 2nd wasn't even an original game and was the weakest of the 3. 2 Zelda games of which the second is universally regarded as inferior. A Metroid game which is poorly designed and ugly with a pitch black background and little level design diversity. And what else, Punch Out.

It was 3rd parties games that propelled Nintendo and they quickly lost sight of that with their strong arm tactics and poor treatment of third parties. It was no wonder so many began jumping ship after Sega's Genesis.

But third party's were only good in quantity this year. many dissapointments.

Well, to you maybe...

Yeah its been a good (not great) year for the Wii U. X1 has had an average year and PS4 had the weakest line up of games this year.

Yep, that must be why it sold several times more than the 2 others...

That explains your Vita's love.

Not sure I follow... Vita did have a lot of 3rd parties and exclusives in 2014. I bought 14 games just this year.
