Still doesn't mean that Smash U will sell more than MK8.

Why are people saying this alot, the thread doesn't mention that it will. I mean ORAS>XY in pre order but that doesn't mean anybody (or at least almost nobody) thinks it'll outsell it lifetime.

I will stop as soon as the last Nintendo fan stops saying the opposite.

Also this is a thread about MK8 vs Smash U sales. What did you expect the comments would be?

I stand by that; Smash U sales would be higher without the cheaper alternative.

I think its the other way around... or that's how it ultimately ended up. That 50 Fact Direct really caught a lot of people off-guard and they were already knees deep into the pool, so to speak.

I hope so; Wii U needs the help much more than 3DS does. Then again, if you ask me, putting it on 3DS at all was a mistake.

Nah, that's a good idea because it fills a completely different purpose, and, really, how are we supposed to play Smash in the back of classes? :P

Allowing players the option of a cheaper way to get their fix will of course hurt sales of the more expensive option.

Or maybe it will feel like a carrot dangling in front of their faces every time they think about how great it would be to hang out on the couch and play with up to seven friends, try out the different modes, play with a GC controller (or a variety of other controllers), get Mewtwo for free or just play in glorious HD.

I think the influence of the 3DS version is a little more complex than you are making it out to be...

Who are these nintendo fans? The minority of the group that think SSBU>MK8. I mean look at curl's new thread.

Also its not MK8 vs SSBU sales thread, its only pre orders. Higher PreOrders =/= Higher Lifetime Sales.

Stooooooooooooop Curl, this comment is the worst i heard reguarding Smash this generation.

No matter what, SSB 3DS proved you wrong with Its current sales alone, it be stupid not to make SSB a HH franchise as well.

The sales don't prove me wrong cos I never said it couldn't sell. It's diluting the power of one of the games that could have saved Wii U that I consider unwise, though that then leads us to my view that handheld gaming is a dying market and that they should therefore focus on consoles instead, which besides being off topic is a discussion I've already had on numerous occasions and have no desire to rehash.

Curl's thread is currently at 40% for SSUB. That's a bigger minority than Wii U Market share. So it's hard to just overlook ;)

"So our expectation is that the sell-through for Smash is going to be very strong, certainly on par with what we saw with Mario Kart 8. "

That line is from your OP. So you are allowed to talk about LT comparisons and I am not?
