Though I agree with him that Microsoft would love to be "#1", I think they realize at this point that that's probably far out of reach and would rather just remain relevant. In a business, winning is important, yes, but staying afloat is just as important.

I dunno if microsoft are struggling to even win in their hometown, there will be conversations 2-3 years down the line as to whether they presume the PS5 will dominate too and whether there is a point to releasing a next gen xbox

Samsung and Apple dominate in phone sales, that hasn't stopped Microsoft from selling phones. Google dominate in internet searches, that hasn't stopped Microsoft from using Bing.

MS entered the phone space late. You dont think they want to be #1. Theyre definitely working towards it, buying Nokia was a good sign.

And Bing again was a reform of a failed search engine (windows live) they've actually gained some good traction too. You dont think they want to remain 2nd place or 3rd place and see ad revenue's that they could have go to google, do you?

US data up on the front page.

Sunset only 138K. With the white bundle. Just poor numbers, MS cannot be satisfied with that.
Worse than Driveclub, and a fraction of Infamous (a comparable exclusive released when PS4 had even lower install base).

It is true that it was just a niche game that would have sold much better on PS4, I think we can rule out a sequel, or at least an exclusive sequel.

I wouldn't jump the gun, here. inFAMOUS was an established franchise. DRIVECLUB is on a machine with many more users and is a different type of game. It may have sold better on the PS4, but we'll never know. The first week can't be a hint that there will be no sequel, especially when it will have the holidays to cushion sales.

I used Driveclub as a recent refernce, but Infamous sold 3 times as much, on about 30% less consoles. And it was a franchise that never sold very well in the first place...

I think calling these Sunset numbers anything else but a failure would be too generous. Especially considering it only sold about 35K first week in the UK, and the rest of the markets are insignificant. It will be a stretch to believe it can reach a million...

B b b u t it is what happens.

It is easy to predict downgrades adjustments than upgrades

Predict the correct number is close to impossible.

My new prediction league style fits more VGC than the 10 Week Countdown.

PS4 didn't drop off, last week was adjusted down to about 227k

Unbelievable.

You've got that right. The adjustment never made any sense. Especially when it was never adjusted up fully from the 10 million announcement. It'd be fine if there was some explanation given, but it still didn't make sense.

ioi gave an explanation about the difference to the 10 million announcement. He said other data shows VGC about right in US, europe and Japan, so the diference must lie in the rest of the world - but he has no idea where.

Infamous look a lot more amazing you're expectation of sunset is too high

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I just dont get it

I dont get it anymore.

I don't think anyone does. I don't judge the numbers anymore, going to wait until offical announcements have been made.

Having been in game stores a lot lately, its looking as a low seller and many are quickly trading it.  Also getting lost in the busy season, shoudl have came out 2/3 months ago.

It will be great if Sony gives more numbers at Playstation Experience and also specifically states sold to customers like last time. That will really make a fool of these adjustments...yet again.
