Samsung and Apple dominate in phone sales, that hasn't stopped Microsoft from selling phones. Google dominate in internet searches, that hasn't stopped Microsoft from using Bing.

MS entered the phone space late. You dont think they want to be #1. Theyre definitely working towards it, buying Nokia was a good sign.

And Bing again was a reform of a failed search engine (windows live) they've actually gained some good traction too. You dont think they want to remain 2nd place or 3rd place and see ad revenue's that they could have go to google, do you?

Of course they would want 1st place, but you seem to think if they don't get 1st place they shouldn't even bother though.

If the difference is significant as current trends should suggest, then they certainly will consider calling it quits.

I think this thread says it best.

Xbox ones sales are outpacing xbox 360. So if Microsoft were happy, why, in an extremely unprecedented move for the console industry, have they reduced the price heavily, unbundled what once was a core feature (kinect) and given free games (via bundles or deals) almost within a few months, less than a year after the console launched.

If microsoft were happy, kinect would still be in the box, the console would be probably slighty cheaper than the initial $499 and they wouldnt have all these awesome deals.

The moves are direct responses to consistently  being outsold. I could imagine if PS4 wasnt a threat, xbox one would now be $449 with kinect at best. But the reality is all these moves are because they are being outsold, and probably because of closed door meetings within some of the big guns within microsoft.

Phil spencer is a nice guy, and I genuinely believe he wants the best games on xbox for those who use it. But there are big wigs in microsoft who are only concerned about the finances, and potential finances that could be in their banks, but isn't.

Why do you guess even talk and debate numbers that are potentially gonna be adjusted up or down 50% in a week or two.

?? just wondering the point of such pointless talk.

Right now because I think many are awaiting the adjustments that should've already taken place (how much it's officially down in known areas/regions), as well as the correction for the downward adjustments last week.  These numbers just add to what probably is a another undertracking week.

IMO sunset seems to low, I'm really wondering whether it's undertracked or there were very limited bundles.

So what Sony said PS4 shipped at 30th September??, 13'5 mill???. Well, we have here around 11'5m sold....so 2 mill out there. Shops everywhere must be mad at Sony because they need to spend all their space with all those unsold PS4's.

I think I don't need to say what I think....

Sunset seems a bit low. Doesn't take account for digital and bundles though. I do suspect it will reach over a million lifetime though. Hopefully is gets a sequel, as it does deserve one.

Overall hardware sales seem low. Wii U sales= meh, One sales= okay, 3DS and PS4= doing great. However, PS4 and One seem under.

Bayo dropped to what I expected as well. Don't think it will reach that Operation Platinum status.

PS4 didn't drop off, last week was adjusted down to about 227k

Hopefully Sony will announce numbers again at the PlayStation Experience event.

Yep, may be they will do 15+ million announcement which is possible to achieve considering their shipments and good number to start PS event.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.
