Forums - Gaming - #PCMASTERRACE thing out of control

Seriously I can't go onto a new YouTube video related to gaming without most of the top comments being about the #PCMasterRace. When I watch a video the first thing I do is read the comments and it's getting extremely annoying now. It's so predictable and it's not even funny. You'd think the master race crew would be off playing their expensive rigs and AAA games. They really put genuine PC gamers into a bad light and I never thought I'd see the day where a group of fanboys would be worse than the PS and XB fanboys.

Anyone else getting tired of it?

Easy explanation:

kids arguing over being adult. Aduld moves by laughs at kids and says "hey you know your place"

IF console players would finally stfu about graphics and framerate and console ware than PC master race would have no reason to go "dumb peasent want to talk about hardware look at my rig!"

All this nonsensical "my antiquated hardware is faster than your antquated hardware"stuff  far more annoying than people telling the truth.

Play on the system you like the most but knowing pc is better, end of story. If you prefer games with lower resolution, higher prices and paying for online than having free online, cheap games and the chance to configure your machine and choose the budget you want to spend on it sorry but you are retarded.

what if countless sony exclusives or Nintendo exclusives are mostly your fav games. Or games like GTA that come to consoles way before PC? Or games like COD who's community doesn't out nearly as fast as the PC version?

Or if you cann't be bother building a PC and upgrading it in future?

And most importantly what if all your friends play on console? You expect that person to go and play all these uber PC games on his own while all his friends are having fun together on battlefield, cod, gta, gran turismo, halo or lbp?

I don't deny pc gaming can be good for the right price but lets face it, it's clearly not the best option for a lot of people.

What i mean is that PC is objectively speaking the best platform right now. As i said play on the platform you like the most, but don't tell me that close systems with hardware limitations and under control of giant corporations that now charge you even to play online (something that should always be free) are better.

Yeah, never read Youtube comments. It will show you how truly stupid and worthless humanity can really be.

Secondly, the very notion of "PC Master Race" is laughable, because it's a comment pertaining only to graphics whores. PC Gaming now is more or less a joke, because all it's become, for the most part, are ports of home console games. PC still gets it's "exclusives", but they are becoming more and more rare. Once upon a time, the term "PC Gaming" actually meant something, because MOST PC Games were actually just that: PC Games. As in they were made for PC, and you could only play them on PC. Games rarely ever got ported between computers and consoles back then.

And you know what? It was nice. Because you had console gaming, and you had PC gaming, and both were their own thing, and both were good. You could enjoy both. I've always been more of a console gamer, myself, growing up with a 2600 and then my beloved NES. But I was also playing PC games back when I had that 2600, on an old Tandy, back when that shit still had a literal tape deck drive for games and programs. Hilarious. I love a lot of classic PC games, honestly, especially old shit from Apogee, and good rpgs/strategy games.

Now? As I said, I think "PC Gaming" is kind of a joke, because when most people TODAY claim they are a "PC Gamer", what most of them are really saying is, they just play home console games on PC instead. Usually with a console-like controller, even. *shrugs*

PC master race is the PC fanboys' way of staying relevant with the console wars. But yeah, you shouldn't take youtube comments seriously.

It's parody. Check out the PCMasterRace subreddit. It's just for fun.

And LOL console wars. The "console wars" are a marketing ploy by Sony and Microsoft to get YOU to advertise THEIR console for FREE. Don't fall for that shit. Additionally, PC gamers have their own war. It's called Intel vs AMD and it's the same shit powering the tech in all three systems.

Myself, I have a couple badass PCs. (check sig). However, I also have a WiiU. It's fun to play and I enjoy raging at the crap that is Mario Kart 8 and playing Hyrule Warriors for an hour before getting bored.

PCMR isn't about PC being better. It's about acknowledging that PC is better. A console gamer is only called a peasant when they don't realize that single fact and think their "PS4 with 8gb gddr5" is better than a PC that costs 600 dollars. It's not.

Check this link: http://www.reddit.com/r/PCMasterRace/wiki/builds

You can build a solid PC that is better than Xbox One for under 500 USD. Not to mention, between Steam sales and other online stores, you can get games for very cheap or even free.

You don't actually believe that, do you? The whole thing might have started as a parody but it has since been flooded by thousands of people that actually mean that stuff and that subreddit is the perfect example for that, it's nothing but a massive circlejerk of people telling each other how much better they are than people that don't game on PC.

"Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they're in good company"

No other quote describes the whole Masterrace thing better than this.

I try to ignore them, but yeah it's definitely getting out of hand.

i agree. my point was that the people bragging on youtube most likely don't even have a powerful rig like you say. It only annoys me now because these comments have taken over youtube. It's a sad reflection on pc gaming if these people are legit but i have my doubts. Because what gamer in their right mind would waste time watching console vids and bragging about their rig.

Actually, I think it is more that console gamers are playing PC games than vice-versa. The Witcher, Minecraft, Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Diablo, Crysis, FarCry, Medal of Honor, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Civilization, Portal, The Sims, Bioshock (through SystemShock) were all series that started on PC and sold a lot as multiplatform, and on consoles.

Then you have games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect which are made by PC centric developers.

If anything console games are dying, and PC games have replaced them. Console games seem to survive only through first-parties.
