In front of me i have a ps3 and ps4 connected to my sexy 52" Sony Bravio which was the newest model when i bought it december last year. 

In the room behind me I've quite a powerful work PC. And in the room to my left I've a sexy Alienware. 

I suppose that makes me some kind of #FilthyCrossBreedPeasant. 

Most PC games range from ehhh to meh, so after playing 10, 15 minutes of those awful early access games id start posting about how great my PC is too. Rather do that than play The Forest or DayZ... Yuck..

Its more like #PCMASTURBATERRACE lol.

went onto that pcmasterrace reddit thing and a guy posts his possible pc build and asks is this enough to beat consoles. The thing came in at $849 and they were like check, check, looks good, ram is a little bit more than needed, oh wait your gpu will get bottle necked you should upgrade to this even more expensive one. Then they were like you will need a new monitor too.

Seriously this whole beat a PS4 for 400$ is bullshit that they spew on YT. But in their actual forums they're barely breaking 800$ when they talked amongst themselves.

yeah, don't ever listen to someone saying how you can build a $400 PC that beats a PS4 in performance,the PS4 is better and much more future proof than a $400 pc.For me PC gaming its about going far and beyond of what consoles can do,like looking at a time portal that shows you how the next, or maybe even two console generations ahead will be.

So when you talk about console prices do you add your at least $400 HDTV to the price? 

You can certainly build a PC for $500 that outperforms the PS4 as much as the PS4 outperforms the XBONE. As for the guy you mentioned on pcmasterrace, it could be that he is overspending on the other components and underspending on the GPU. The GPU should cost about half (+/- 10%) as much as the total price of the system (unless you are buying multiple gpus.) My GPU cost about $200, and my PC cost about $500 (before OS; in total), for example. 

Most people already own a tv, whether they play video games or not. So no. Not every one now a days has desktop computers at home. So a large percentage of people would have to purchase a monitor with the rest of their PC.

Do most people have 1080p TrueHD televisions? Hm, maybe, but I doubt they can dedicated a game console to it, and therefore they'd have to buy a dedicated 1080p ready television or monitor. A good monitor costs about $150-$200, but even if you don't have a monitor you can use your pc with your televison in the same way you can use a console with it. THe monitor is entirely option. 

1080p tv's have been pretty cheap for quite a few years, long before these new consoles launched so i'd assume most people didn't have to upgrade their tv's with console purchase. Also i don't know about any one else, but if i'm going to drop more money on PC than my console i'd want it to oupterform the console, in which case your standard 1080p tv isn't going to take advantage of that. Any body who wants the convenience of laying on couch playing video games is pretty unlikely to purchase a gaming dedicated PC. 

You get a better experience than the consoles even at only 1080p resolutions, plus you can supersample if image quality is that important. Most PC gamers don't game at resolutions higher than 1080p, yet still get experiences better than the consoles. Resolution is only one aspect of image quality, let alone graphics and performance in general. Hell, 1080p outsmokes the consoles even, many games are only 900p on PS4ONE (and some even less.) And you can get this for a similar end-price (when you consider everything: game prices, online costs, etc, etc.) Also one can connect a controller to PC and play on the couch. As it is now, the only argument that stands in favor of consoles vs. pc these days is convenience. You don't have to build the console, and there aren't as many program conflicts. But for everything else, the arguments are outdated and stale. PC gaming is not more expensive nor does it lack any experience that you can find on the console, as you can do whatever you want with the PC, control it how you want, have it look how you want, and play how you want.
