Forums - Gaming Discussion - Just cancelled my Halo:MCC pre-order.

Get to play Halo 2 with remastered maps online + Halo 5 beta. More than enough value for me. And yaknow seeing those glorious Halo 2 cinematics.

Seriously why does the metascore of this matter to people at all? If you want this then chances are that you've already played all the games anyway so you know what you're getting yourself into.

And this whole "but the games all had higher metascores"-thing is completely irrelevant as well, review standards were completely different back then, Halo 1 came out in 2001 for example, a year where an NHL game got 92 metascore, a Madden game got a 94 and a GBA Tony Hawk game got a 95. You can't take a score from over 10 years ago and use it as a base for what a game should score like today.

I've been on the fence about this game as well, for different reasons of course.

I've never really liked Halo much at all. I own Halo 1-3 and haven't finished any of those campaigns. I did enjoy the multiplayer though.

I am basically purchasing for the multiplayer, I've always hated the campaign.

Might want to reorder after that ADS and sprinting footage of 5. this may be the swan song of true Halo (seriously I loved them for keeping away from making you look down a sight for 90% of the time even though they instituted that retarded 2 weapon limit and regen health)

If you have the original games you know what you're getting, so I don't understand why metacritic would affect your decision.

#1 I would never base a purchase solely off a meta score especially with so many agendas these days.

#2 Can we have a megathread where everyone can post their "i bought this" and "i sold this" stories?

Wow, are people's standards really that high? Do people need to depend on reviews to justify their purchase? Wtf is wrong with society..

Personally, I'm buying it for the online multiplayer, replaying all the campaigns again, and the 100+ maps.

So a Metacritic of 88 and bad reviews for a tv-show is what made you cancel your preorder for a collection of 4 games at 60fps, with the possibility of getting over 100mp maps? Ok.....
