I've noticed that with game and console polls too; GCN and its games score disproportionately high.

Not surprised GCN is No.1 =(
If thats the best Nintendo have to offer then they really need to step up there game.
The C-Stick is stupid and terrible, why not use a normal fucking stick??
D-Pad is one of Nintendo's worst.
Only 1 bumper and 1 Start/Select etc. button

This pretty much nails it. Even in the ergonomics department I think its outdone by the pro controller and the gamepad.

GCN was Nintendo's least successful console provided we forget the VB just like Nintendo do sometimes =P
Less popular things always end up the popular thing because its the cool thing to do, people are such hipsters.

This poll reflects the age demograph online (early 20's). In ten years, it'll be Wii winning this poll. Ten years after that, Wii-U.

It's because the early 20 somethings were kids and that was their favorite console. Childhood has a way of making things seem more grand than they really were. 

Back in 2001, I was 21-22 and I can assure you, no one and I mean NO one liked this thing. I couldn't post one positive comment about any Gamecube game without getting ripped to shreds.

It was between Gamecube and Wii U Pro for me. Wii U Pro is their highest quality controller, but while the Gamecube one is ridiculously cheap in build quality, it's really nice to hold and remains the best way to play Smash Bros.

The N64 controller, designed for three-handed aliens, is the worst controller ever made.

I always feel like I am using a different gamepad than everyone else, from my experience I've always felt it's pretty poor on the ergonomics. It has never felt right to me, the buttons are too far apart and the relation between the right analog stick and the face buttons is just weird. I can't speak for the pro controller though.

I loved the N64 controller. Sure it was ugly as fuck but it was comfortable to use.

Is this really in question? GCN controller takes the cake, all the way.
