Forums - Nintendo - Smash Bros 3DS players getting banned for 136 years in a glitch.

Isn't that a little too much? Though to be honest the hackers who I've seen play Mario Kart and literally complete 3 laps in 10 seconds should be banned like that. I don't get how you can cheat incessantly and find a game fun by always winning. Of course I don't know what the guy did, but there are others that deserve that kind of ban. U_U

Well, I wasn't planning on playing online anyways since my wifi can sometimes mess up. Thanks for making this decision easy Nintendo!

My god the fucking nannying. Absolute joke.

More unique to smash due to the possibility of more than one opposing player, and it's a game that can become very un-fun if someone's out to get you.

Of course, it only applies when there's both a skill gap, and more than two players, so i can't imagine you're getting too many bans for that to begin with.

I think it's a rather silly rule to have, if you feel someone is constantly targetting you then just leave the current lobby and join another one.

More years and a whip treatment!!

That's essentially a perma-ban! I wonder if they'll actually ban you forever for repeated offense.

What?  It is a perfectly valid and often used tactic.  If in a 1v1v1v1 one player is clearly better it makes sense to gang up on and only target him in order to eliminate him as a threat.  In 2v2 it makes sense to each take on one target only.

...except it will get you banned.  Again, absolute joke.

All 4 player matches are time only. There's nothing to be gained from excessively targeting one person.

Again, targeting the leading player is a legit tactic.  But even if it wasn't, it is part of the game.

That's different from targeting one specific player regardless of score from the start of the match until the end.

Ditto what Einsam said.

Plus if they are the best player in the room, then they can likely shake you off or make it not worth your time. It's more worth it to your score to pick on the weaker player, which can then lead to abusive practices.

It is a competitive game, it isn't for Nintendo to tell you who you can attack or how to play.  If they didn't want people getting beat up on they should have made a mechanic to stop it, they didn't, they made it an open arena.

This is the same level or retardedness as getting banned in Mario Kart because you hit the same guy with a red shell too many times.

Multiplayer Smash matches aren't really very competitive.  Also, it's not the same thing as that at all given that you cannot target whoever you want since it's based on your placing throughout the match.

In Smash, you can go against anyone you want, and realistically you wouldn't be hitting the same person in a 3-4 player smash throughout the entire game.

edit: I mean without attacking anyone else, but that should be obvious.
