All 4 player matches are time only. There's nothing to be gained from excessively targeting one person.

Again, targeting the leading player is a legit tactic. But even if it wasn't, it is part of the game.

Ditto what Einsam said.
Plus if they are the best player in the room, then they can likely shake you off or make it not worth your time. It's more worth it to your score to pick on the weaker player, which can then lead to abusive practices.
