PS Plus was so much better when Sony wasn't dominating with PS3 like now with PS4.

What really changed is people now subscribe to PS+ to play games online. A relatively small number actually subscribed for "free" AAA games.

No point in spending money on big budget games when people aren't subscribing for them.
