I think it's great. If you look at the features MS adds & Sony adds, MS adds many but generally minor App updates, Sony's are few and substantial.

Dont know enough about this to say for sure. If it can be used for multiplayer battles then yes. Seeing as splitscreen is a shell now this could reimburse multiplayer matches with friends as the biggest issue has been that your real life acquaintances didnt own the game. Of course this requires yourself to be ablw to play it aswell at the same time. Something i havent heard were the case

It essentially makes every MP offline game playable online, it means you're able to demo any game (for an unlimited time, really). Heck, you could complete whole games with this feature without owning the game.

Used to be able to demo most games anyways years ago. You could also complete them by renting or borrowing as well without owning. And what games nowadays even have offline MP but not online MP?

I still see it as a fairly minor feature. No where near the level of stuff like online play. Online play can be and is used by most people, share play may be great for some people but I don't see it being anywhere near as popular as online play.

Plenty of games only have local co-op and/or local MP. Towerfall is one that comes to mind and would be very enjoyable with online play

If it works as intended, it could be a great feature to market the hell out of, especially to gain PS+ subs.

Additionally, games like Madden, WWE, MLB The Show, NBA 2K, UFC, and any other title with a local multiplayer, now only require one copy for people at two seperate locations. That feature is a massive selling point, that will bring a lot more play to publishers titles, and in turn should keep people buying DCL, since they can still have a social experience with the game even though their friend does not own a copy.

On top of those two great scenrios, you will also have the ability to play through local co-op games, with only one copy. Again, this is massive, as now friends on the fence, or people willing to play a game, but not willing to spend the cash, can still play it if a friend has a copy.

So just think about how many times, you wanted to play a local multiplayer game with a friend, but have not had the time to run over to their place. Or you bought the latest yearly release, but your friend still own last years version, so you have no one on your friends list to play competitive multiplayer with. How many time have you been super hot on a game, but non of your friends were willing to put cash down for it? Share Play solves all of those issues. IMO, that is amound the top 5 gaming features ever created.
