Share Play is basically just bringing split screen gaminging to the internet. It is revolutionary in the fact that you no longer have to have a friend waste 15 to 20 minutes driving to your place, just to play for a half hour. This makes multiplayer gameing massivly more conveinent, and allows for many short gameplay sessions that were just not possible if travel time had to be included.

Additionally, games like Madden, WWE, MLB The Show, NBA 2K, UFC, and any other title with a local multiplayer, now only require one copy for people at two seperate locations. This means you no longer have to skip out on playing current games with friends that are not as into any given game as you are. That feature is a massive selling point, that will bring a lot more play to publishers titles, and in turn should keep people buying DCL, since they can still have a social experience with the game even though their friend does not own a copy.

On top of those two great scenrios, you will also have the ability to play through local co-op games, with only one copy. Again, this is massive, as now friends on the fence, or people willing to play a game, but not willing to spend the cash, can still play it if a friend has a copy.

So just think about how many times, you wanted to play a local multiplayer game with a friend, but have not had the time to run over to their place. Or you bought the latest yearly release, but your friend still own last years version, so you have no one on your friends list to play competitive multiplayer with. How many time have you been super hot on a game, but non of your friends were willing to put cash down for it? Share Play solves all of those issues. IMO, that is amound the top 5 gaming features ever created.

* Until Morpheus

ka-pi asked about what game has off-line multi-player but not on-line 6 responces up from this post.

TRIALS FUZION

The game was released a while back. It is developed by Ubisoft and Redlynx. The game is on PS4, XB1, 360 & PC.
They have yet to put on-line multi-player in it, even though it's falsely advertised and retailed packaged as to having it.

I think I prefer stuff like online play, friends list, achievements/trophies, party chat, snap, resume, among others over 1 hour play alongs. Nice feature, but best ever?

It is unlimited... you start a new session even before the previous ends... it is just you friend need to say you play the game each 1 hour... if they didn't put this check you could put a game to a friend play and go bed lol

BTW it makes every (EVERY) local mp or coop game to have online mp or coop.

It is absolutely NEXT-GEN.

It is really cool how Sony is setting PS4 aways in terms of OS feature... it is already miles ahead.

While this is a great feature, it will drastiaclly drop the games a PS4 gamer will buy. Heck, this might literaly cut in half the sales of co-op dependent games on the PS4.

I don't agree. I think it will drastically increase the sales of PS4 sales. It's also a system seller which in turn drives up salees of games.

The PS5 Exists.

Great Feature? Yep! Best Feature Ever? Arguable cause I say Steam's Family Sharing is way better cause there is no time limit, you can share up to 10 friends and the only restriction is they can't play the game at the sametime (unless they go offline that is). Oh and did I mention that steam is free?

Wow sounds way too good to be true. I should boot up Steam more often.

I suppose sure but I personally don't see it as some mind blowing "next gen" experience, all I see is Steam family sharing just on a console, yeah it's on a console but that to me doesn't make is as revolutionary as when "all" consoles got online play.

I can imagine in the future if MS and Nintendo do this it'll be debbie downed on purpose, even if they themselves invent some new "revolutionary" feature the exact same will happen, it seems awfully ias how when Sony does something only it can be the best and greatest thing to ever happen to a console.

Also I like the lack of options on the poll which only gives the sole option to praise and judging by previous posts we can't possible critique it either less it count as "derailing" or someone bound to call someone with an opposite opinion "salty".

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
