After so many years on these forums I know that chime. It sounds like your Reading Comprehension Alarm has gone off, seeing as how you appear to have misread the point. Maybe look into it? Or perhaps you have severe ADHD, and couldn't get to (God forbid!) the dreaded paragraph two.
Look into your gullibility levels too while you're at it: it seems like you might actually believe they'll be spending appreciable long-term resources on a single character or something. I guess it's offset by your optimism though: even when once non-existent practices like exclusive DLC - including exclusives purchased by specific retailers - is becoming increasingly common, you honestly think there's some line the game industry won't cross. That's...cute.

My reading comprehension alarm did indeed go off, it was informing me that certain users in this thread and others haven't been paying any attention at all. You're being awfully absurd. I bet you six months of sig or avatar control, or both (your choice) that Mewtwo won't be exclusively available to people who register both games within the "promotional period" yet to be disclosed by Nintendo.
Your second paragraph was no more reasonable. You're mad because Nintendo didn't fully explain their promotion that is something like half a year away. People can grumble about whatever they want, but it doesn't mean they aren't simply being impatient.
You have only further justified my earlier comments about people using their own cynicism as an excuse to be willfully ignorant.
Gah I'm a Mewtwo fan but I rather buy OR or AS than Smash Bros. 3DS I'm fine buying Mewtwo in a season pass though since Smash Bros. already has so much content.

Are you really using this as an excuse^ As for your "Isn't it enough to just charge a couple bucks for him?" comment, who said they aren't? |
hopefully they are but you'd think they would show all the options. Ridiculous

Why? Spring doesn't start until the end of March.

..........
I'm picturing you struggling to get through anything more complicated than a Stephenie Meyer novel. "Wait, so there was a blank space at the end of this sentence, and then a blank space in front of the next one. Clearly this means the two are unrelated. And this pattern continues for the whole book! And they said the short story is a dying art form..."
If that sounds belittling, it's because it was meant to be. Here, let me spell it out for you in even simpler language. There is no need to separate the first and second paragraph, because they are peices of the same idea. I'd ask you to go back and read them with this revolutionary concept in mind, but my ever-so-cynical self leaves me willfully ignorant to any possibility beyond you screwing up the job entirely, so I present to you, without any pauses whatsoever, a single (run on) sentence to break down the complicated concept for you.
"The Game Industry is doing more and more anti-consumer bullshit that has conditioned people to be cautious about stuff like this and while it's very unlikely that buying both versions will be the only way to get Mewtwo Nintendo should have taken the five seconds it would take to clarify the situation but instead I suspect they didn't because they're either incompetent or trying to mislead people into buying both versions when they don't have to and that's a dick move."
I apologize for using words that are more than five letters in length, but it's late, no one else seems to have had problems understanding me, and I don't really care that much: I'm only really responding because you were a snide ass who missed a simple point and thus gave me an excuse to be an ass in turn. And I rarely pass on such a chance.
Anyway, I apologize for taking such an "absurd position" due to my "impatience" and "cynicism" and "willful ignorance" and "inattention" and anger and, I don't know, constipation or some shit. Feel free to get in the last word - you know you want to - because I've had my fun and am now done with you. Have fun!

There hasn't been any negative PR resulting from this. There have only been people drawing conclusions too early and getting mad over nothing on internet forums.
Here are three popular/respected news outlets reporting the story, none of them jump to ridiculous conclusions and crucify Nintendo for their outrageous DLC practice. They all pretty much present the story accurately and then say stay tuned for more info. No negative PR at all.
