I doubt it will push the sales to 100m, but it will push the sales to 99999999 unit

:D :D :D , Ok seriously there is possibility but like every other members said it will be determine when the new handled is going to release, technology improvement wise, selling pattern, demand for knew handled, competitor inside or outside (tablet, and mobile gaming ).

My guess is Nintendo will introduce the next handled successor sooner and that will halt the 3DS sales to achieve 100M life times sales.

Lol, I would bet money that you are wrong. Again, Nintendo has no more direct competition (the Vita is essentially dead). So the 3DS is going to be on the market for a long long long time.

Even 70m isn't guaranteed...

The One and Only

VizionEck.com

100m is out of reach. Originally, I was expecting 58-60m LT for 3DS. Now, with the newer models, I'm expecting around 65m LT which is far, far, far away from 100m.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

Even without the New model sales heading to sub-70m was unlikely. The 3DS will likely have sold over 50m by January, and it wouldn't be very difficult to sell the remaining 20m in the last 2-3 years of it's life.

Now, with the New model, sales should boost a bit and I'd say it will be heading towards GBA sales. 80m. Early in it's life I said 3DS would reach GB sales, I don't think that's happening anymore and even 100m seems a stretch that's way to big.

100 mil is way too ridiculous. That's still more than double the current sales.

Yes, and theres no Vita competition in site.

Rovio's downsizing their workforce, EA & Ubisoft seem to be trying to embrace online delivery (meaning home consoles as a product arn't nearly as necessary as previously). Even Google and Samsung are pushing home gaming hard this gen it seems.

I think 3DS sales certainty is actually MORE clear than the home console market gen.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Vita is dead who would disagree with that. I never bet, you can bet with somebody else lol.

There is always compatitor who will replace Vita. You can say mobile device, tablet or anything and there always something new as long people consuming gedget and other electronic device. Let say there is a posibility new handled will emerge and it will make Nintendo release the new one, eventho there isn't, Nintendo is  a technology company that always inovate by releasing new device, because in terms sales there is point where the sales chart going down and we can see the evidence by looking to how fast Nintendo relasing the new variant for its device, and the new device had been released it called N3DS. So we can predict by this behavior Nintendo indeed speeding up their 3DS generation.

That just my opinion though :)

Not even close.

The bump in North America will be modest IMO, no one uses the 3DS to surf the web with and no one cares about the analog nub as Monster Hunter is not a big seller here. Same story in Europe.

Kids who have gone tablet/smartphone crazy aren't going to be impressed with those additions in this day and age.

Nah, it'll be alot better than Modest, that said i thought originally 3ds was going to end with 60mil-62mil lifetime with a successor releasing in 2016 (some people thought it be next year, thats already out the window).

My prediction now is a successor comes out at 2017 spring the earliest and 70mil-75mil lifetime for 3ds.

This seems 2017 is the earliest for a successor to with the remodels

I still personally believe holiday 2018 will be where the replacement happens.

It will probably reach 55-60m by end of 2015, and 20-30M in the last 2 years with one final push wouldn't be too hard I think.
